will a mage character be a bad vampire lord since he has low

i was just wondering if someone has seen any gameplay footage that might suggest a mage would be an effective vampire lord or if i should start a fighter character. i read that the vampire lord focuses on restoring its health and stamina with powers. this leads me to believe that even its powers use stamina....i really dont want to start another character.

Possibly. But the addition of high magicka may keep you from being hit a lot. I actually have a character I did little to nothing in magicka, but due to this release, I've leveled up Magicka quite a lot, I now have 340 health, 330 stamina, and 310 Magicka when adding a 20 point magicka ring, my nightingale armor, the atronach stone, and the gauldur amulet.

Not to sure on that tbh, from the vid I seen though the vamp lord had over 700 health and about 150 magicka, as to using stamina for the powers I doubt that the summon spell would use that but maybe the bat form? Also I dont think it would matter to much if you had lower health because of the health restoring skills the vampire has.

Kind of like the werewolf then? I had to level up restoration and get the Avoid Death perk on my werewolf just so I wouldn't die all the time.

I think the only spell that drained magicka was the Vampiric Grip. I may have to watch the video again. I think the Vampire Lord should be played with high health to really make it's health regen powers worth it. I also think 200 stamina is enough with the Lord because you only need 1 stamina point to power attack. I think the Vampire Lord uses stamina for other reasons, which is why you might want 200 or maybe up to 300 stamina. I don't know how much magicka the Lord uses up so I don't know about that.

I wouldn't be so worried about the costs of Lord powers. They said when you transform you get a boost to all three stats, so I think the cost will be mitigated by the transformation.

Pure speculation though.

The boost is very little though.

I think it was the g4 gameplay trailer they should the vampire lord flying which you could see it draining stamina. I'm assuming flying is the vampire equivalent of werewolf sprinting.

I think a battlemage build would be the best solution for a Vampire Lord character. But i would exchange Destruction for Illusion, fits the Vampire Lord.Or a sneaky mage build with a little more stamaina and health than magika.

Matt Carafano said that Vampire Lords are heavy spellcasters, which is why they get to summon Gargoyles, to keep opponents off them while they sit back and nuke. They can do melee attacks however, and when they do a power attack on a low health target, you get a feeding kill cam that gains you Vampire Lord experience. There's a perk that makes power attack feed killcams restore all of your health as well. They do seem to use Stamina when levitating/hovering, especially when levitating over water. The first perk in the Vampire Lord tree, increases your Health, Stamina and Magicka by 50 while in Vampire Form.

Not even good for a normal character if you don't have all three it's no good. Everyone can and should master everything
