Will the new Patch fix all the big glitches?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:10 pm

Personally I think that there are too many glitches within this game, and there is going to be a lot of work needed to fix them all. So really the new patch will probably focus on just some key aspects of the games main quests.

I can deal with freezes once in a while but I am so sick of the damn combat glitches. It gets to the point where my player wont reload, wont fire, wont go into vats and wont bring up the pipboy in combat. Also finally getting into vats and picking an attack only to have my player just stand there untill vats ends. Really svcks having enemies, mostly Cazadors, get down to 1 bar of health and even sometimes no health and turn invincible.

Am really tired of seeing objects glitched into the ground and objects turn invisible from certain angles. They should have made those Sunset crates perminate and not able to move.

It just svcks to see a game company that can produce good games put out crap because of bugs and glitches. I know every new release has glitches but when you put out a patch to fix 200 issues and there are still tons of gamebreaking bugs you have to wonder WTF you are doing. It seems like they didnt even test the game. Or they knew about the glitches and instead of taking their time and even pushing back the release they released it anyway, bugs and all, knowing we would buy it. And once they have our money they could care less what we do with our copy. They really should not even be working on DLC untill the bugs in this game are fixed.

Get your [censored] together!

The patch will probably just fix a Deathclaw that's getting stuck on a grain of sand somewhere.

Probably, we may never see the last of these glitches.

I will be stunned if there are any new patches (apart from DLC compatability patches).

Any bugs in the game are here to stay.

Dear god I hope so, I literally can not get past the first hour in the game no mater how many times I restart. I rarely complain about bugs, especially since I am going into this industry and know that difficulties in catching everything but this was just blatant laziness. Little bugs like NPC limbs acting on their own do not bother me I just want the non-stop freezing to be fixed so I can advance in this game and not feel like I completely wasted $60.

I sincerely doubt this will be the case.

Although how long a patch will take is any one's guess.

they will have to patch the issues surely. if not then they will lose a lot of money from potential buyers due to the amount of bugs this game has. people will just avoid it outright.

i don't think bethesda/obsidian would be that neglectful. especially if they want to make games in the future, and this whole bugs problem will become huge if it's not sorted pretty soon.
it's only been a week and hundreds of bugs have already been found. they don't need that tarnishing their reputation.

The reason that they'll probably only release patches to coincide with dlc releases is because they know most of the people complaining about bugs will still blindly purchase the dlc immediately. Not everyone, but enough of people to make a large profit.

They'll be able to fix the major game bugs.. They won't be able to fix the engine bugs that still plague Fallout 3. It was never a very stable game engine to begin with.

So far I've been really lucky glitch-wise; a few freezes, but Fallout 3 used to freeze as well and it's usually not that big of a deal. NPCs stuck in walls or rocks is par for the course with Obsidian/Bethesda. Today I finally ran into one that killed the game for me, for at least a little while: the Oh My Papa glitch, which clearly wasn't fixed by the patch. The Quest is broken, and for all I know the Republic Part 2 may be broken as well, as a result. On another note, I also can't find the ferryman in Cottonwood Cove, but maybe he's not there all the time? I don't know. Anyway, I hope that the next patch fixes these problems and comes soon, because I probably won't be playing until it does.

See I thought there was going to be an improvement with this game, so when I mean improvement I mean less glitches. However I have been disappointed and angered by what I have seen and read from other gamers. I really do hope that Bethesda and Obsidian are working on a patch that can put these glitches to bed.

my guess is that only the very smallest bugs MIGHT be fixed at most. they are selling the game and weather it has bugs or not they will make money and thats all that matters.

They really do need to fix the bugs that effect game saves, and the main quests because some people do want to complete the game lol.

Hopefully it will at least fix the big ones that stop people from playing, such as the DLC bug which has been a major source of frustration

Again, what patch? There is no patch, guys. The one from a few weeks ago is it.

It's all about putting out retail DLC now. They're done patching.

i just hope it fixes the mission bugs, namely Bye Bye Love and Oh My Papa,2 missions i found today that i can't complete just because i have completed a past mission

i can't even find Carlito or Joana for Bye Bye love because i have finished 'how little we know' mission

and Oh My Papa i can't find Melissa because i did her mission earlier 'Don't make a beggar of me',the waypoint directs me where she was,but she is no longer to be found and therefore i can't complete the mission..very annoying
