Will this end like FO3 ended?

Will FO NV end like Fallout 3? so that you cannot continue playing the game (other then loading back) then there will be a addon (like broken steal)?

again :shocking: NO SPOILERS :shocking: , I'm not asking literally how it will end. I'm asking about the format in which it will end in.

No word on expanding DLC, but yeah, beating the game is The End. Apparently it warns you before you get to a point you cant get back from.

Also, And they all lived happily ever after, except for Eggbert, who caught the drip.

yes, but it probably has a good ending now. in FO3 the ending kind of svcked so being able to continue was fine. but i think some much bigger things happen this time so it wouldnt make sense to continue.

As has been stated there will be no continuing after the ending.

Why all of the "NO SPOILERS"? None of us knows how it ends, the games isn't out yet.

No continuing. But it will not end like F3 with Ron just thanking or condemning you, but instead actually telling you what in the blazes became of the people and places you saw afterwards. So, it will have a conclusion, not only an end.

"Want to keep playing your beloved character after finishing the MQ? Pay us $20 for the expansion that changes the ending suka."

Pretty good scam I must say, and the mindless masses will fall for it in droves like they did for "Broken (<-literally) Steel".

Bethesda created Broken Steel because of fan backlash. From what I understand, there were no plans for BS before the game was released. I never had a problem with the game ending, but I guess other people ( A lot of other people) did.

The devs have said that when the end of the game is near you'll know it.

Yes it ends, no we have absolutely no info on how exactly. All they have said is that depending on what you choose to do throughout the story, there are many many many different ways the game can end. Unlike FO3 where no matter what it ended the same way. (Not including the small choice of you or Sara going in the chamber.)

I'm afraid Obsidian is underestimating how big of an issue this is for many players. Since I'll be playing on a PC I can simply use the inevitable community mod, but if I bought the game on a console and wasn't aware that the game ended after the main quest, I would be pretty annoyed by that.

You're underestimating Obsidian's awareness of the issue. They've taken measures to negate the impact of the finality of the ending; it won't be a surprise like it was in Fallout 3; and it'll be a better final ending than Fallout 3 had.

No, they're not, actually. FO3's ending is generally meaningless in terms of what you did in the CW and they KNOW that just about everybody hated it. Being master storytellers, they also know that people would whine and grumble if they let players run around the world after the big ending and nothing was changed. I don't doubt mods will come out letting you continue, but they'd be pointless. Wooo! Look at me! I run the Legion now and nobody cares. Yeah, that doesn't sound awesome at all.

Thank that Devs  :fallout:

I just hope it's not a fib. Was it not said FO3 was to have an ending like the originals? and we all know how that turned out  Since New Vegas is being made by people that worked on the originals as well as the cancelled FO3 I hope we will truly get a classic style multiple endings based on are actions that lets us know what happens to the people and places.

Well, I trust Chris and Sawyer a lot more than Hines. Beyond that, the explicit reason they didn't go with freeplay after the end was that they wanted to show consequences for your actions in the ending slides, and playing after the end would weaken those consequences according to the interviews... And really, Obsidian seems to be paying a lot of attention to the original games, what with APA1, the NCR, etc etc... So I'm optimistic.

I am optimistic as well but I have been burned before so I can't help but have that small amount of doubt. I don't mind not being able to play after the main quest. FO2 has that option and I have only played after the end a couple of times out of the countless times I have played it.

something will most likely pop up in a box saying "The Main Quest from here on is going to end the game, If you care to continue playing, please make a save file and back-up your play."
