Wind spells

It would be nice if they did. As a sorceress, I would love to see more magic stuff in Skyrim. The rouges have alot of new stuff, the warriors have a love of new stuff, and we mages do not get that much. A few spells here and there and a few robes here and there. I would like to see the spells do more destruction at the higher levels like they are supposed to.

They need to do something with mages. My level 81 i'm running through DB is extremely weak.

Summons die in like 2 hits and due to my low hp's i'm forced to consume massive amounts of potions just to stay alive. Very frustrating.

Spell creation would really be nice since I could cast a destruction spell while putting on mage armor but as it stands its just clunky and every fight takes forever since you have to pause to change up your spell rotation. Why they did this is beyond me.

Where is this whirlwind cloak? It looks so awesome but Neloth's assistant isn't selling it to me. But yes I would love more wind spells.

I agree. I also kind of want wind magic to help compliment my pyromancer character. It would be nice to have something to get rid of those pesky Flame Atronachs. Without having to use ice or lightning.

But yeah us magic users need more variety. If Bethesda expands on wind magic then I swear I will never whine about magic damage again.

I think you can buy it after you finish some quest called wind, and sand. I'm on PC so I'm unsure. But from what I've read it has a chance(as long as you're moving) to blow enemies in melee range away.

Its supposed to be very powerful. I'm in love already.

Banish deadra.

Not to derail the topic, but I've tried that. Even with double casted Expel Daedra. Didn't work on the wild Atronachs I found. Which were the problem.

On topic: I wish they made the cyclone shout a destruction spell instead. I realize the DLC is called "Dragonborn", but still.

I do not mind the atronachs at all, and I also like the spells from DG. I use alot of conjuration and destruction. I would just like to see the spells balanced out like they should be. If I am throwing fireballs at someone, I do not want to have to dual cast them all the time to do the damage they are supposed to do. I also would like to see better robes for my sorceress. Miraak's robes, to me, are nice, especially in close quarters for a mage build. Just picture getting swarmed by 3 or 4 bandits with those robes on, and then it is tentacle party. lol But better robes, better looking, both enchanted and ones you can enchat yourself.

I just want higher level spells that do the damage they are supposed to. Wind spells would be great, for you can only have so many types of fire spells, frost spells, etc. Outside of whirlwind, we have no wind spells except the fus-ro-dah shout and the cyclone. It would rally be nice.

Ahh wild ones xD supposedly they arent summoned (no idea how that would work from a lore perspective, maybe they are just bound more permanently to our plane of existance) so they cant be sent back.

ontopic: It would be very nice to have some more wind related magic (would be nice if they added any new sub tree in destruction outside of the 3 we have).

Keeping your distance and using summons to distract works for me.
I use ebonyflesh, dremora lords and a bound bow to get through the apochrypha, the trick with the lurkers is to get them to focus on your summon.
Potions to boost destruction damage are also a help.
My vampire mage never put more than 5 points in stamina and health and as such he usually has below 150 hp.
Its an interesting way to play.

all they need to do is give us fortify destruction damage enchantmemts on items that can be disenchanted...i don't like masks, especially dragon priest masks

You can do a lot with fortify destruction potions, especially if youre not above using crafting loops.
I carry a handful of potions that increase my damage output by around 100% for difficult encounters and it works a treat.

Wait... what? Mages received ALOOT of stuff in both dawnguard and dragonborn, way more then a theif character for example.

But i do agree that the desctruction magic school could use a rebalance.

I agree. They did get alot of stuff. But look at it this way. The witches have there black robes. The vampires have their armor. Us mages have to share our robes with the Stendarr, and all the robes look the same and it is hard to see the difference. Dragonborn did give some new robes, but the main one, Miraak's, is not good for inside a town where someone can attack you. All it takes is one hit and there are tentacles hitting guards, npc's, etc. They are good for outside of town, which is why I love them.

But as a sorceress / mage, I want something different. I want a mage set of robes, both enchanted and un-enchanted, that are seperate from the Stendarr, and have a look all there own. The cultists robes are great, have only 1 enchantment, but they are hooded.

hooded cultist robes? Mine aren't hooded but I happen to think they work well with a gold ruby circlet.

Give me a set of unenchanted grey beards robes or something similar in style and I'd be a happy panda...not a fan of the gaudy telvanni or temple priest robes, I prefer something more subtle

I know. I use them frequently. Having said that, mages shouldn't have to rely on potions to deal respectable damage. The enchantment would go a long way towards fixing the problem.

exactly, not to mention alchemy falls under the "stealth" category and therefore shouldn't be necessary for mages seeking more power

Hmm. I tried on a pair of cultists robes and they were hooded. But there was another set of robes, I do not remember where, and maybe that was them. But I will try again later. Thanks for the info.

please let me know if there is indeed a set of hooded cultist robes as every cultist I've killed wears a mask with no hood. The only other robes that I know of which have a hood are the new temple priest robes but the hood is a separate piece. Maybe you're thinking of the hooded dunmer outfits, the trader by the silt strider is wearing a set of those.

That must be them. Something that begins with T I think. I do not know. Anyway, I will be "playing" in about an hour, so I will let you know. I really thought it was the cultists that you first met that gave you the quest for Dragonborn.

You have to a bunch of quests for the mage who lives in the mushroom tower. I can never remember names. Then his assistant sells them.
