Winter Olympics

Am I the only one stoked for the Winter Olympics on this forum????? Or did I just miss the thread?

Anyways, tomorrow night people! Opening ceremonies and such. I can wait for it all: Speed skating, Bobsledding, Ski Jumping, Downhill, Snowboarding and yes!! Even curling!!

Seriously though, I've watched most all the TV coverage in all the Olympics that have happened in my life, they are just awesome. Am I alone here??

They lost their appeal for me once the cold war ended. My favourite game of "pick the East German female athlete who is actually a man" is no longer playable :(

Even curling!!

There are some who would say Curling is Canada's national sport. I say, sod off. I don't even call it a sport. Oversized shuffleboard. -_-

I'm only watching for the ceremonies and the hockey. The sweet, sweet hockey. Everthing else is meh.

@BladeMaster07: Wow mate, you know you could get about 30 grand for those tickets?

I can't wait to see how much of a fool Canada makes of itself at the opening ceremonies. If the preview thing we had years back in Italy is anything to go by its going to be a gong show. Not to mention all the stupid choices. Inukshuk logo? This isn't Yellowknife 2010. Or the stupid anime looking mascots. Hosting the Olympics is one of the biggest wastes of time and money I have ever seen...

But I will be watching the sports, because I like to watch the skiing, hockey, luge, bobsled, skeleton, and I am sure a few others.

The only reason I even knew the Olympics were happening is because of Stephen Colbert helping to fund the US speed skating team. But even then I don't really care lol. Sorry :|

Summer olympics svck. The only good thing about it is the Basketball, but the Americans always win anyways.

Didn't the Americans lose in the first round the last time? And everybody had a cow over it? Maybe I'm thinking of something else...

Curling is pretty much the only event I bother watching in the Winter Olympics

Seriously, it is the only thing that holds my interest as it is so unusual.

Actually it was 2004 the lost but they won in 08.

Out of the 17 years of it US has 13 Gold 1 Silver and 2 bronze.Next best is Russia with 2 gold 4 silver and 3 bronze.

I've got better things to do than watch people do pointless things in the snow or on the ice... Like putting a hair-drier to good use on a banana, or read the collective works of H.P. Lovecraft to my cats and a can of beans.

I won't watch it all, but whenever I have free time to watch television, I'll most likely watch the Olympics. And read the results and highlights in the newspaper.

And I absolutely love to watch curling. It's very, very intense. Honestly. Watching the ball slipping on the ice, in slow-motion, hoping that it stops at the right place/hit the opponent's ball... great moments. :D
