So I cnt be thane of winterhold now, becuase I just found ranmirs corpse, killed by those magic things in the winterhold quest it seems. That has just lost me 2 quests.

So only guy I can help is the dark elf. Meaning no thanehood. There are literaly NO other quests in the entire bloody hold. Winterhold is [censored] horrible.

The college quests count as part of Winterhold, its actually bloody easy to be Thane there.

Well... there is like 2 houses there so what did you expect?

I'm Thane of Winterhold and I never did any quests for him. One becomes thane of a region, so helping people in the region (not just the seat of the jarl) counts. Even chopping wood or collecting crops can count as helping someone.

I read somewhere they dont count towards it.


I could never find anything else in winterhold, aside from the innitial people. If there are setlements they must be well hidden, all I have on my map is ruins and caves.

Then who ever wrote that is wrong. I didn't do a single quest for "locals" in Winterhold and was made Thane right after getting the helm, because I had done 3 college side quests prior to that.

The main quest of the College may not count, but you can help out a number of people in the College.

Oh thats cool then. Thans for the help. Kinda relted but do any of you have a winterhold shield ? I see one in the loding screen but only found steel on the gaurds that died.

Why the hell would you want to be Thane of Winterhold?

I became Thane of Solitude primarily through collecting veggies and chopping wood.

Previously I became Thane of Riften by going on numerous expansive quests . . . . this is the one that feels more rewarding, even if the house isn't as big.
