When I had my wisdom teeth removed, I mostly just slept for a day or two and felt pretty much fine thereafter. 'Course I was on some strong medicine, mind.

Could be worse. When I went to have mine taken out, I had an allergic reaction to the sedative being injected directly into my bloodstream and went into anaphylactic shock. They still needed to come out, though, so I got to go back some time later and watch that needle go in again.

I had all four of mine taken out last November. I didn't think it was that bad, I ate Thanksgiving dinner the day after it happened. The first week was fine because of the pain killers, but after that it was pretty painful. I ended up getting ear and headaches frequently the second week. After that I was back to normal though.

yeah thats all Ive been doing is sleep.. theres not much else to do, you just have to wait it out :( I think I may have OD'd on the painkillers too cos I was up at 3am this morning throwing up white vomit.. which just aggrivated my wounds more. I cant wait for this to be over.

I had mine taken out over twenty years ago, I think I was seventeen at the time. If I remember correctly I wasn't in too much pain afterwards...of course I was most likely on some pretty good pain killers then too.

ice your face frequently
take the painkillers
watch tv
sip some Ensure (the chocolate flavored ones are really tasty!)

that's what I did when I had my wisdom tooth taken out. Of course, the opiate painkiller made me lightheaded and dizzy and woozy, so I couldn't take them, I had to have a synthetic.

Nitrous Oxide and painkillers FTW. I loved getting my WT taken out. Wish I had more of them. Waking up on laughing gas is the [censored].

I had all four out when I was 17. I did it on a Friday. The oral surgeon knocked me out for it - woke up 45 minutes later not even realizing it had been done. I ate soft (but normal) foods at dinner that night. Think I took one or two Vicodin that night for the pain. I didn't have any swelling and was back to school on Monday. From what everyone says I had a very easy time of it compared to most.

My best friend had all his out when he was in his late twenties. His face got so swollen he looked like Fat Bastard from Austin Powers (and I told him so).

My wisdom teeth were all impacted, so the oral surgeon had to break them up with a hammer in chisel before he could remove them. The first three days were horrible, although that's partially because the narcotics they gave me upset my stomach so I could only use the super-dose ibuprofen. However after that things cleared up quickly.

I didn't sleep the first night, the second night I had to sit up but I did doze a fair bit. Eating was less tricky than I expected - I stocked up on cheese ravioli and chicken noodle soup beforehand and as long as it wasn't too hot I just needed to eat with some care.

When I got my wisdom teeth removed recently I just spent the next two days [censored] up on vicodin. Then the third day I ate a hamburger. Day after that I went to work with nothing but high-dose ibuprofen.

Luckily for me I was born without my top wisdom teeth

I still have my bottom wisdom teeth as they didn't see any real reason to pull them. They told me to make an appointment to have them pulled but I put it off (not because I was avoiding it but just more out of pure laziness and not wanting to make another trip to the dentist). The next time I went in for my annual check up they said well the wisdom teeth are in and since they don't hurt you we'll leave them in.
