Witcher Geralt

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 8:49 am

I haven't played the Witcher games but have read the first book by Andrzej Sapkowski "The Last Wish" and have a movie DVD "The Hexer" based on the Witcher short stories. I created my character to be similar to Geralt. I usually don't wear armour except iron when needed but usually walkabout in the same kind of clothes that guy who works for the shop in Whiterun, usually seen carrying wood wears, plus hide boots and hide wristbands. All my weapons are steel and generally use greatsword and switch with sword. During walkabout I may just have a soul-trap steel dagger, my bow right now is Imperial. My build is a Nord with shoulder length light grey hair and short beard, I used the Nord with the long red hair as a base and reduce the muscle mass a little, overall I'm fairly chuffed with this character, so much so that I deleted all others.

I've used Hawkwind ever since I found such a named character in the old NES game "Ultima: Quest of the Avatar", which is also my fave British band since 1970.

Are the Witcher books any good? 'Cause I love the Witcher games, but haven't read any of the books.

And does your character use alchemy? :P

They must be, I mean they spawned movies, sequels, and high budget video games!

It all started from a short story posted in some mag, but people liked it so much it soon turned into a full book.

I like the book and would have got the second but the first I got was the UK print which has a better cover and Amazon (Canada) didn't have the UK version at a reasonable price and I haven't looked recently for it . I use some alchemy but mainly just getting my guy started, he's not Geralt, but my Hawkwind is much in the same way.

I'm wondering what kind of sword Geralt use? It seems neither one-handed nor two-handed sword.

The magazine was "Fantastyka", since his first publication in it, there was 7 books from The Witcher series.
