With Friends Like These

So in the quest With Friends like these Astrid tells you to find who is guilty and kill them

Did you end up killing one ? two? or three?

I myself though what the hell and brutally murdered each one with my Nord Warrior and Two hander great sword making each wait in agony for their turn to come.

i essentially toyed with them and then swore my allliegence to the Night Mother.

I killed all three.

And Astrid recognizes an over-achiever when she see's one.

I so love the Dark Brotherhood!

And yeah, a spoiler tag would've been helpful...

I didn't kill the Merc guy, he didn't really seem like a bad guy.

All three. It was the only way to be sure I got the right one.

I think I killed the one on the right, you know, the one who talked about being a "defiler" of women. Because he said that like he was proud of it and We Were Not Amused.

But that was with the one character that I made specifically to see what it was like to join factions that I knew I would probably never want to join again, just to have played through every faction at least once. I don't really enjoy playing the type of character that makes for a really successful assassin and/or thief.

So with that said, my preference is and always will be to kill Astrid. In fact I'll probably enjoy that even more, now that I know what she's really like.

Depends on the character
Griselda killed all 3, Vriddi and Hildi both killed Astrid
If I were to pick only one it would be the Khajiit. The women might be annoying to have as a mother-in-law but hardly deserving of death, the Nord was a wimp (his boss might've been worth killing), but the Khajiit boasted of his many enemies

I killed all three and stripped their bodies. Every times I'm sent to kill someone I take their clothing.

I like to spare the Khajiit, he's just as evil as I am.
He's free to run around and cause agony in my name now.

The only one who deserves to die is that coward, the nord.
Did any of you killed Astrid on your first time? or with an alternative character/save file?

I've only NOT killed Astrid once. For me, joining the DB was the aberration, not the other way around.

Depends on how I RP my character.

My orc killed all three because she's brutal and thorough, my khajiit thief killed the mercenary because she likes the other Khajiit and left the mother because she's, well, a mother. On my next character, I'm either going to kill Astrid or the mercenary, depending if I just wanna destroy the the Dark Brotherhood outright or go for a destroy-them-from-within thing that quickly changes once the contract to assassinate the emperor comes up.

I spared the Khajiit as well... the phrase, 'is that any way to treat a national treasure' sprang to mind... trouble is, there is no way to actually let him go. Every time you go back to the cabin, there he is, still tied up... can't untie him, can't do a thing about it. The only way to cut any of them loose is to kill Astrid... best option really, cut short a foetid questline, gain a cool set of light armour, free the Khajiit equivalent of Mac the Knife... good day's work.

I killed her the first time, and every time since. That's a LOT of dead Astrids by this time.

I tried to make him a follower with console commands, it worked, he follows but his voice always sounds like his head is in a sack.
Then when you speak to him, it doesn't... So that didn't work.

Astrid killed me the first time, and the second (reload) time as well... it was only when I discovered you could sneak behind the furniture at the far end of the room and give her the old stealth-arrow-3x-damage treatment that I killed her... bijou moment for a level eleven character.

You can also start attacking her while she's still talking. It can be very effective, and it cuts short the whole "climb down from the perch, saunter across the room, try to act like a total badass while I get close enough to really hurt you" thing. You know how villains are with their monologuing... if they'd just shut up and get the job done they'd have a much higher percentage of success.

She killed me the first time too, but only because I had no idea that I was going to be kidnapped by the DB when I went to bed that night and had dumped all my armor and weapons in the chest next to the bed. I did not make that mistake a second time. Oh hai there what is this in my hand? Why, I believe if I give it a little shake it will summon a dremora. Really, Astrid, you should try to relax a little and go out drinking once in a while, you never know how beneficial that kind of stress relief will be in the long run.

I have got to try that... the idea of having a bag-headed psychopath Khajiit follower is enough to make me consider sending J'zargo packing back to the college. I wonder if it's possible to equip him with ( the little lamented ) Astrid's armour... poetic justice indeed.

Well, surely if one is consoling already, "fixing" him would be possible....? I don't know, as I don't use followers at all. And if I DID use them, it wouldn't be one I had to mess about in the console with....

It depends on the char I play. I tend to RP my characters. I have a 'thief', mage and warrior.

Spoiler
Killed all three on my assassin char, only killed the khajiit on my mage (ice spear execution) and I'm going to kill Astrid on my current char, since he is a noble nord warrior, who prefers to fight the brotherhood, rather then join them.
