If you are not aware of this cartridge, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.22_Winchester_Magnum_Rimfire. Note the size of the thing compared to a standard .22 LR (same bullet, but about twice the powder)
Before I get started, however - I'd like some opinions on an implementation.
This cartridge has a much higher velocity than .22 LR, and as such I'm thinking the ammo should do only a hair more damage than the current .22 weapons, but with the AP-style target DT reduction. As the rounds are supersonic, I'm thinking that making them louder (but not as loud as normal) would be a good compromise?
Reflecting it's specialized usage and relative rareness, I think I am not going to create any alternate ammo types. I'm thinking of allowing you to craft the ammo from .22 parts, but with the addition of a tin can or some other kind of junk. Is it possible for such a thing to accept alternative items (so that both cans and bent cans could be used)?
