It wont Start

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 12:21 pm

When ever I put the skyrim disk in, the start up menu won't pop up. and if I try to open it by clicking on the disk logo in my pc's system file, it just freezes. Did anyone else have this problem.

Then there's likely something wrong on your end, then.

Does any disc at all function?

Does the disc work in another computer or disc drive?

From the sounds of it, you've got some software interfering then. Or something along those lines.

That or a bad disk drive. Because it acts like its going to load, then it bogs down to almost nothing. Sometimes it actually loads after about a half hour.

At least optical disc drives are cheap. If you don't want to wait you can simply enter the CD-Key into Steam directly to download the entire game from the Steam Cloud.

For some reason I find the simplicity and conciseness of this thread strangely pleasing...

I actually had that problem too, I switched out the SATA cable for the DVD drive, and it remedied the slowness somewhat. I have had the DVD drive for some time (4 years?), so maybe it's time for a new one?
