Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:37 am

Thank you for particpating in the Worst for their own Faction awards!

If you think someone is out there doing their part to destroy their own faction and should be recognized by this award, please let me know.

Who do you think is the most detrimental to their own faction?

Voted for Olivier, Legate and McNamera. I have to ask why did someone vote for Ceasar?

That was my bad, I was aiming for Vulpes Inculta. :brokencomputer:

I picked him because he's responsable for introducing me to Ceasar. If he hadn't done that there might still be some Legionaries in the Mojave.

KIMBALL that moron is driving the NCR into the ground little by little. I would have voted Oliver but hell if it weren't for Kimball he wouldn't be in the position on power he's in to begin with. I'd rather dig up Tandi and have her run the republic post-mortem than let that idiot keep on doing it.

Lanius because he's the worst of the worst. Vulpes is just a backstabbing son of a [censored] because it's a job, Caesar at least has a vision, attempts to do good and at least benefits his own people and Graham just seems misguided, though you could argue that the Legion would've been more successful if it weren't for Graham...

Kimball because he's directly responsible for Oliver (who's also not so great) and the entire Mojave campaign. Moore is a [censored] but she's just doing her job. I don't see anything wrong with Crocker or Boone in regards to the NCR, and Fantastic's path of destruction is limit to Helios One.

The entire BoS seems bad for themselves, save Veronica. Hardin as elder has to be the worst though because he leads them down the same path that got them to where they are now.

Not to sound biased or anything, but it's kinda hard voting on something on the Legion side. They all benefit with something. The only one who's failed was Graham and he's no longer there.

The courier is a total wildcard, some of mine have never met Vulpes in Nipton. Vulpas is an excellent spymaster who is well underused by the legion. I find the Legate to be the most destructive to the Legion as he isn't very good at defense strategies, he admits it to you during the final battle.

Yup.
I don't see how Caesar, Lanius or Vulpes do any harm to their own faction really.
Some people might not agree with their ideology but how do any of these three harm the Legion?
All Lanius would do is turn it into an even more brutal nation.
And Caesar and Vulpes are doing just what they are meant to do for the Legion.

Don't see how any of those three do any harm to the Legion itself.
Graham on the other hand did, so he earns my vote.

Well Ceasar apointed Grahm, allowed the Rangers and the NCR to join forces and foritfy their positions in the Mojave, and has lied to every memeber of the Legion from day one. He's also suffering from a tumor which makes his decisions suspect.

As for Lanius, his actions after the second battle are not exactly benificial to the Legion. Doesn't he spend years searching for the Enclave only to lose soldiers? That's what Kimbal is doing to the NCR and everyone hates him. At least that's what I thought about it.

You already know why I think Vulpes is self destructive.

Oh, Father Elijah, you omnicidal madman! You're exactly what the Brotherhood DOESN'T want to happen! That's why I locked you in a little box with nothing to eat but gold.

Caesar, because though he could've used his abilities to turn the Legion into something decent, he has formed them into something that will die shortly after he does.

Mr. Fantastic for the NCR, because that idiot is going to cause something BIG to blow up eventually....probably the Damn.

And Elder McNamara, because even though Elijah screwed the BoS, he was still under the impression he was doing the right thing. McNamara knows that the BoS doctrine is self-destructive and wrong, freely admits it, but then refuses to change.

Graham as Legate is the only sensible option on the Legion side, but since he's no longer Legate it's not really an option in my book. Caesar is the reason the Legion even exists, and he does a swell job at whatever it is he's doing, so that's a no. Vulpes is the leader of the frumentarii and they've aided the Legion greatly, so that's out of the question. Legate Lanius is one of the most brutal and feared war generals in Fallout History, so that's also a no.

He thought 'doing the right thing' consisted of trying desperately to bring a superweapon online, and when he realized he couldn't do it, he abandoned everyone who was counting on him...to go looking for more superweapons to use! At least McNamara doesn't think 'the right thing' is Apocalypse part two.

There's a science fiction writer called Lois McMaster Bujold that once observed that people from democratic societies adapt well to living in an aristocratic societies so long as they get to be one of the aristocrats. Everyone who says nice things about the Legion (and the real world Empire it's based on) assume they'd get to be one of the leaders in that society and not one of the cannon fodder that dies screaming on the battlefield or on a cross if they looked at a leader funny.

Caeser, simply by creating the Legion, is the worst thing that ever happened to it.
