Is it worthwhile to enhance sneak beyond 100% with enchantments?

I'm not quite at 100, but did take peks that I find VERY useful. My character is an archer, and it is very satisfying when you wreak avocado while hidden.

How about multiple muffle enchantments?

Or how about the silent perk? Is it useful after you already have muffle?

I haven't noticed any real improvement with sneak buffs above 100.

I can sneak up to anything with 1 perk into sneak(+ a few perks on left side of the tree) and 1 pair of enchanted boots I looted. Thats even w/o muffle..

According to UESP wiki if you take the Silence perk it acts as 100% Muffle, so no need for Muffle enchantments on your gear.

I know you meant "wreak havoc", but this just struck me as extremely funny. Then I thought about a perk which lets you add looted tomatoes to the attack in order to wreak guacamole.

Marcus Antonius:

And Caesar's spirit, raging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry "Avocado!" and let slip the dogs of war,
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

I'm as tired of hearing the "arrow to the knee" line as anyone, but now that I think of wreaking avocado when I hear it, the annoyance has been replaced with a mental chuckle.

Back on topic with regards to Muffle...

Even without any sneak skill to speak of, having boots with Muffle in terrain which blocks line of sight gives you a nice advantage over opponents. You can get closer and prepare for combat without them noticing, or drink an Invisibility potion and get away or reposition without being noticed.

Sneak at 100 + muffle is really all you need.
Everything else is just a waste of perks and enchantments

Depends on how OP you want to be. If you really deck yourself out with a full set of enchants, you can sneak up to someone from the front, in broad daylight, at any speed. You can attack them and they continue looking around, unable to find you. "Worthwhile" is very subjective.

It does seem to make a difference, even with muffle. I suspect that the game throws your value of sneak against an enemy's wakefulness. Obviously, if the enemy has a low value, 100% is fine. But if the enemy is wide-awake and looking for you, 100% isn't enough - but 125% is. With that percentage you can just crouch there in broad daylight and watch them flail around. Clearing the Katariah is a hoot like that.

Does difficulty level influence enemy alert state in any way?

i use the spell muffle so that i can raise my illusion level too.

sneak is a great skill.
