Yes it improves load times. Won't keep you from getting corrupted saves though.

Installing to your hard drive may speed up load times, but in my experiances with Fallout 3, can cause more "glitches" due to the qualtity of the Xbox's hardrive, and bad clusters just like a PC's hard drive. Once I removed Fallout 3 from my hard drive I had no glitches/bugs, no saved game corruptions, and only 2 game freezes in over 200 hours of play time.

I've installed it in my hard drive when i starting playing the game. there are still freezes here and threre in any case i just turn the fan on behind the game system so less of the freezes happen.

I really don't think any of the issues with this game occur because the system is overheating.

I think as mentioned, yes it will improve load times, but since software is software no matter what the storage medium, you won't receive any extra benefits to having it on there, nor will you incur any extra penalties. Can't be any worse, can't be much better (aside from load times).

It's possible. Although I didn't notice much difference myself though.

It will save your DVD drive from wear and tear though and cut the amount of heat produced so is worth trying.

I installed it to my hard drive, but I still incurred the slowing of the load screens. It still lags up, and there are still framerate issues. Bottom line, there is little to no improvement with installing NV to your hard drive.

Installing to your HDD is basically extending your DVD drive life, reducing heat that is a byproduct of the DVD player working, reducing noise, and prevent burn "grooving" on your game disc. Game performance is generally considered better when installed but a few games have been reported to perform off of the disc.

Well I installed it and I got the RRoD on my second playing session. I don't know if installing it to hard drive had something to do with the death of my xbox. Now I'm sending the console to maintenance and hope that my hard drive still breaths when I get my xbox back. Hopefully it was just a coincidence and my hard drive is ok and the problem lies somewhere else in the ex-box.

I'm not sure if I dare to play this game anymore with my xbox. At least it's going to be hard not to play because I loved those few hours I managed to spent with this game.

I recommend you using it as a coaster for your drinks in between corrupted saves, glitches, failed quests, [censored] programming. That's just my opinion though.

i downloaded it to my HDD and it still lags and glitches... i also have the DLC glitch so i cba to play FNV till the patch comes out...

I've decided after going a little research that I'm installing it to the Hard Drive as it will keep my DVD rom alive longer.

yes but i always get the problem of the disc is unreadable even though im playing it off the HD its probably [censored] build quality

Your drive still needs to read the disc to authorize the game to strt off of your HDD. for instance, I took my disc and my HDD to my sisters and it still will only read from disc. A message will prompt that you have to play the game off the disc if you aren't using the console from which the game was used to install to the HDD. weird right?

yeah it is wierd but i have the disc in...and it still happens is it a problem with my laser orr....

I would suggest exchanging the game for another copy. It will be easier to exchange than a full return. You may have a degenerative drive...Aka it might be failing.My drive frequently requires me to open the tray, close the tray, repeat seeral times until it registers. This is not specific to FO as I use to have more issue with CoDMW2

I expect you've probably tried this, but if not, try running a dvd head cleaner through the drive.
Sometimes its just a dirty lens.
