I would like to see: No racist stereotyping

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:54 am

I forgot about this one.

Three-dog. Um. ok, so the only african american main character is a comic, flat character. He is the DJ. He uses the term "dog" in his name.

like, Sup Dawg! Um, ok, maybe if you live in the midwest and are not actually Black, Like I Am , you say that still. However, the stereotype feels great. Dad of course is a white guy. The professors are white. Hm.

Bannon. He's the only intelligent african american character I can think of. He might be annoying, but at least he isnt stereotyped.

Oh, and if this were a unionized acting job, the Professor Li. Yeah, Asian? oh no, regular nice looking caucasian lady. Hm. The use of non ethnic people for ethnic roles has been banned for over 20 years in the USA.

I will still play the game with the stereotyping. It just is 2010 people. I mean, you might want to consider not wanting to liable for racism lawsuits by now.

Three Dog isn't a stereotype at all. He acts pretty normal when you talk to him and he plays 50's music. He would be playing rap if he was a stereotype.

Even though it is that year in our world, it isn't there. They have a completely different mindset.
And I don't know if you're aware, but a lot of minorities fit the stereotype. That's one reason they were created in the first place. It seems as though you're looking for a problem where one isn't really present.

Um.. respecting your opinion and all, but aren't you - in the end - looking for an issue with a magnifying glass? That way you can find everything in everyting. Just saying.

God, not another one of these topics. Another person crying "RACISM!!!!" because some characters happen to be certain races. People see one black slave among 5 white slaves and again cry "RACISM!!!" If you honestly think that there are racist stereotypes in this game, you sir are daft.

I disagree with your topic. I thought Fallout 3 had extremely little stereotyping.

Did you notice all the slave masters were black and the majority of slaves were white? Im pretty sure thats not stereotyping.

Three dog? soooo a black guy isnt allowed to be a DJ because its offensive?

Personally, I just thought he was obnoxious and poorly voiced. The first time I heard him say dog like dawg, I was like: what the ____ is this guy doing in here, this belongs in fallout about as much as emo, punk rock, and swedish death metal.

Closed for trolling.

The Fallout: New Vegas forum was not made for the purpose of disparaging Fallout 3 but for exchanging information about Fallout: New Vegas.

If you have anything constructive to say about Fallout: New Vegas and it is not simply flamebait about Fallout 3 disguised as suggestions or requests, your comments are welcome in this forum.

But this thread is nothing of the kind.
