Would you like to see hard "bosses" in DLC?

Would you like to see hard "bosses" (for lack of better term) in DLC. In FO3 and NV the hardest boss battle in my opinion was the Chinese General in Operation Anchorage. Would you like to see more bosses like that, single characters (or creatures) that are really strong or really skilled posing a much harder challenge than standard enemies. I know the idea of bosses does not fit great in Fallout, but I think in some of the linear DLC it would be cool to have a strong NPC (or creature) to be a boss type fight.
Do you think this is a good idea and if so any ideas for any bosses?
-I personally think it would be cool to face some kind of boss one on one in a sword fight (nothing but melee weps) maybe he captures you and only gives you the option of facing him with a sword or something, just a random idea I had.

I hacked him to death. I loved my 'Chinese Officers Sword', I carved up all kinds of stuff with the katana. There have been no hard Bosses it's true but the real hard shooter style boss would be hated by most Fallout players.
You can make the games harder by using only certain weapons if you want. I find the games easy and only use medium power guns etc to achieve my purpose. No VATS.

Well, they were some bosses in New Vegas. Legendary Deathclaw was able to kill high-level player in 1-2 hits. Vault 34's Overeseer had like 900HP and 100DMG attack. And especially Lanius, which was made as powerful as Horrigan himself.

The thing is none of them is really dangerous because PC is made much more powerful than any NPC. With vanilla balance Player has like 4-6 times more HP than NPC, armor-related perks make him nearly immune to most weapons, and fully-repaired weapons deal almost 2 times more damage than nearly broken ones used by NPCs. Because of that, without ridiculously increased HP or One-Hit-Kill ability no enemy is real threat in one on one fight.

I'm more for vanguards, bodyguards, elite mercs etc. guarding VIP/target. Pretty much like Ceaser's Praetorians, or Oliver's Ranger bodyguards. Group of overpowered, but still reasonable enemies, where one is already on pair with player, and group is deadly if you fight them head on.

This is suppose to be a game of realism in real life no one can be shot 2000 times with a rocket launcher and still run around before you mess his up for the rest of us go play Mario or donkey Kong or perhaps metal gear if you want boss levels

Are we talking JRPG "hard"? If so, then NO. No I wouldn't like to see that. I've had quite enough of the million-hit-point-bosses, thank you very much.

Getting to the boss should be the hard part. Killing the boss should be like killing anything else -- a bullet to the head for what ails ya.

Heh. A Duty expert squad from Stalker. Now that can be a hard game, my favorite video game ever. I started with Doom.

Or they could do alot of damage and use a good weapon, like a boss using the anti-materiel rifle and head shotting you every chance he gets, wearing remnants power armor, along with a squad of Veteran Rangers(using them as an example of good enemy). like that would difficult.

The way the game is set up they tend to be just bullet sponges. Meh.

I'd like to see more advanced AI, and groups.

I've always been pretty disappointed in the Boss battles in Bethesda games (never fought a F or F2 boss). Defeating an NPC that threatens the world should be difficult and give a sense of victorious satisfaction, not a slightly surprised regret that Fill-In-The-Blank was a two hit pushover. I'm all for variety in enemies, so maybe the Boss is a weak fighter. Fine, give him some bodyguards.

I'm aware that this is a recurring problem with games that allow the character to gain power. Eventually they become, well, powerful. Maybe there should be some more applied level scaling to certain NPCs so the big climix provides some challenge? I'm not talking about something like Ganon, but there should be a sense that your toon is about to die. Did anyone really think Elijah could win, for instance? Now, imagine if he'd shown up with a couple hologuards...

Nah, I'd rather have a lot of enemies to dispatch instead. Bosses are annoying.

Well if Joshua Graham turns out to be the villain of Honest Hearts I don't think he'll be killed quite easily.

I'm gonna be disappointed if we "can" kill him.
Graham is a very very very very special man.
Doesn't make sense to me that a mailman can kill a man that cannot be killed.
If we can trap him in something or escape from him then that's fine but killing him is out of the question for me.
I don't care how many "But he's still just a man" you throw at me.
Graham is freaking http://www.mojo4music.com/blog/mojo_honours_list_2008/Coxo5-photo.jpg, Caesars executioners couldn't kill him but a mailman could?
Nope.

I found you a hidden boss level . At the start of a new game using only a knife head north to the quarry , kill all the death claws then you will face a barrel throwing death claw king what shoots fireballs and jumps up and down on a bridge throwing turtles with battle axes at yo,u while giant robots slide around firing missile . Use your knife to unscrew the blue box and grab the R.I.N.O and blast him before the long haired European cowboy shoots you .

if were going to fight Ulysess then he better be really hard to kill. Im thinking like 2000 HP. 30 DT with his axe/hammer thing doing around 70-80 Damege per hit.

I would like them as long as it was a proper boss fight instead of "High HP NPC who is essentially just a tedious bullet sponge."

If it's the latter, no, I don't want that.

This is exactly what I don't want in a 'boss' battle; although the high damage by itself is not a problem (you should be packing a lot of DT and/or aid items for a boss fight anyway), when coupled with a wall of HP it just gets annoying as it then becomes an exercise is spamming health items while whittling away at the boss. If I want that, I'll fire up Diablo II.

I would far rather see an encounter where the boss him/her self is not necessarily all that strong, but has either reinforcements, or a room that's a deathtrap for the player who doesn't pay attention, or a combination thereof.

Take the fight with Elijah for example: if you don't disable the security measures before calling him down you have to deal with both them and him if you decide to attack him, and those turrets can add a lot of damage to what Elijah is already handing out with his Gauss Rifle, but if you do subvert the security system they will attack him instead and make things a lot easier. That Gauss Rifle will still hurt like hell, but there won't be anything else shooting at you in addition.

In contrast, the fight with Commander Jabsco in the Talon Company base in FO3 is hard for all the wrong reasons: Jabsco himself is a damage sponge, he gets massive reinforcements all at once rather than in waves, and he has two tank-level robot bodyguards that you can neither avoid nor deactivate. As a result, the only real way to win the fight is through a combination of attrition and exploitation of the crummy combat AI: pull Jabsco or the bodyguards away from each other and whittle them down one by one, but only after first clearing the area so he cannot call in reinforcements. EDIT: oh, there is one other way: Bring a Fat Man and launch several mini-nukes into Jabsco's room, that will kill everything in there.

There is Lanius and General Oliver and his heavly armed guards. I count those as "Boss" battles.

A DLC that adds more things like that in the main wasteland/mojave area? I don't know, depends on how well it can be worked into a quest.

A DLC were we are in a new location and have to deal with someone or something that is like a "boss"? Sure as long as there is a good story behind it.
