WWII game ideas

Take the same concept, same game play simply put it in a WWII format with larger world based maps...

Everyone is tired of the same Allies/Axis battle with scripted roles and limited game play and storyline.

Ideas? Thoughts?

So basically, you just want an updated RTCW or W:ET?

Congratz, you just invented Enemy Territory.

Parkour and crazy character customization wouldn't make sense in that time period. So the parts that would make sense are already in RTCW/ET.

actually I would kinda like to see a WWII game which isn't grounded in realism. Hyper-realism, colours other than brown and some wacky moves along with an expansive alternate history story line. I'm not saying this is my ideal formula for a game but I would like to see it made just to see what it would be like.

The concept of using this particular game engine and smart moves within a ww2 or more recent war orientated game would obviously revolutionize the game style. Considering that cod4-5, BF series etc all have similar game style and application as far at the user interface and game engine it would be safe to say that it would blow people's mind's, mine included. As far as if parkour was even invented, well i would say that if one has served in the armed forces you more than likely have gone through similar moves whilest in advance training. The army is not only about marching and yelling.

Also DO NOT FORGET the fundamental and obviously outlined throughout the gaming community that Brink would provide server files is the key and so widely applauded response from gamers around the world. As a gamer, i applaud and applaud loudly, not to mention the amount of proposed new and old gaming clans that will immediately adopt this game to their clans existence. In short, its success is more than assured, it's purely a matter of time.

Peace.

yes, but the fact that they are capable of the parkour moves doesn't mean they are able to perform them in a combat situation with a heavy pack. In fact many soldiers died during WWII from drowning in water that was ankle deep, simply because the packs were too heavy for them to get off. They would have the same mobility of a heavy. Realisticly vaulting over trenches would be the most any soldier would do. No real soldier would wall hop over a gap.

so this won't work in games aiming for realism. Brink on the other hand does it superbly. Like the devs said, distant enough to be something you've never seen, but close enough for it to be believable.

yeah, but stuff like OSS stuff is what i'm talking about...in this game your playing as high tech mercs basically so how far from reality would it be to have behind the lines operative soldiers during WWII...in a sense it would be like airborne divisions meshed with souped up resistance fighters..idk..just something to think about...
