Xbox 360 D-Pad Hotkeys?

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:11 am

I've heard since pretty much release date that you can hotkey Left and Right on the D-Pad by holding down Left or Right in the favorites menu. I've tried this is like every menu. It's just now annoying me bc i've grown tired of hitting my favorites menu all the time

Edit: My problem is, is it's not working. Lol

hit up on d-pad to bring up favorites, highlight 1 and hold either left or right d-pad to hotkey

it will be labeled 1 or 2 if done right

Oblivion hotkey system is 1000000 times better. fallout 3/NV hotkey system is 1000000 times better.

I finally had to make a character that uses a 2 handed sword (on 1. ie LEFT d pad) and a bow (on 2. RIGHT d pad) with a skin spell in right hand and a heal in the left (on the 'third' hotkey). I did this because even though I love my Mage I cannot stand to pause every half second to every second to access the favorites menu. If I just had 8 hotkeys I would limit my Mage to 8 spells and deal with it, but as it stands only having 2 hotkeys is INFURIATING. This was an abysmal decision and greatly drags down the playability of the game.

for me, a hotkey system is on the bottom rung of what i need in a game. i often don't allow myself to cheat and use it. yes, it has a slight glitch right now, but, it works great.

and, besides, it takes 2 buttons to get to your desired screen and do it the "hard" way.

using the hotkey is a cheat? You're carrying 400 pounds of equipment but you have a problem with a ready skill?

It's crazy to have to go to a list and select what one wants. Two hotkeyed items is hardly a cornucopia. (sic?)

They really need to do a New Vegas set-game-perimeters-at-start. The hardcoe folks could lock out all their 'cheats' and other people could have acrobatics and what ever else.

I love this game but I think the Favorites menu is the worst thing ever, they should of just kept the 8-directional Dpad hot keys. I mean seriously I never could fill up 8, why the hell do I need a whole menu of them?

I got ticked off with this as well (I'm on PC mind you with the controller), but I ended up using a mod to change the hotkeys around. The back button is now my favourites menu and the Dpad goes straight to the item. Also lets me take screenshots with the controller which is handy (I'm playing on a laptop connected to a TV and the laptop cover is closed, so can't use the keyboard).

(edit: didn't see the title saying "Xbox 360", so obviously a mod won't help you out - sorry man!)
