All 360 Users, please clear your cache before you play New Vegas.

Clearing your cache is a good idea, but someone brought up an issue in one of THE OTHER THREADS ABOUT THIS ALREADY...

And that is, if you downloaded updates for games off of Xbox Live, and are now without the internet for whatever reason, when you clear your cache, you lose those updates and the only way to get them back is to find a way to connece your 360 to the internet.

Definitely something for people like me to consider, as I will be connected to XBL when New Vegas gets here, but shortly afterwards, I will be without the internet for several weeks.

but what game would u want to play BESIDES New Vegas

Sorry, am I missing something here? Why should we clear are caches?

If they release a New Vegas patch for bugs or whatnot in the next couple days, and I download it off of XBL, and then am without the internet, if I clear my cache during that time I lose the patch.

For clearing your cache to be effective (and that's if you're even noticing problems in the first place) you should be clearing if every couple hours.

But I'll end up clearing it right when I install the game to the HDD, DL'ing any updates, and then not clearing it again until I get back to civilization and can connect to the internetz.

edit: clearing your cache SOMETIMES clears up smaller problems/bugs/corruption issues. If you're noticing some issues, clearing your cache occasionally fixes them.

I'd also like to know why caches would near clearing.

yea why and how do you clean out a cache and what is a cache? for the x-box 360 maybe not many know this.

I confess I have never had a problem with this. I'm usually offline and all my updates/patches/DLC still work fine after years. Is this a New Vegas glitch of some sort?

theres a memory leak issue that wasn't fully fixed, clearing the cache helps eliminate the affects of the leak

I lost both my Oblivion and Fallout 3 saves from clearing my cache. It was just fine before I did that. Don't do it people. This is total B.S. The game has some issues, whatever, they'll release an update later. I LOST BOTH MY SAVES FROM CLEARING MY CACHE. Can't be more clear on that.

What? No offense, but it doesn't even effect those files, not sure what you did. Clearing the Cache should have NO effect on your save games. I've heard about this on No mutants allowed too, so its not B.S. The game tends to lag when it is first booted up, and several issues are fixed by clearing the cache and restarting.

I did this a week ago, I play both games a lot. I cleared my cache because my loading times in Oblivion were excessively long. Bingo, corrupt save when I started it up. Tried Fallout, same thing. I mean I guess it could have been because Mars was aligned with Jupiter.

Huhm, seems likely enough........................Mars and Jupiter are very mischievous this time of year....

anyway, this is a very rare problem, if you're afraid of doing this try plugging in a flash drive/ memory stick and putting your saves on there while you clear the cache, that way it won't destroy your files.

What does holding the "A" button do just before the game loads. Does this clear the cache as well? This was recomended to do for Oblivion and Fallout 3. Is it still applicable for New Vegas?

What kind of B-[censored] is this? im going to play the game without doing something to my Xbox360, as that is the way it should be.

Why the [censored] do we need to adjust our systems to play a game that has been in development for over 2 years?
