Xbox Crashes whenever you enter The Strip after your first v

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:28 am

These are 2 people with the same problem i am having... our Xbox's go totally black whenever you try to reenter thestrip to complete missions or get new companions. I have 50 save files.... all of them break the game. it is as if the Strip is broken Perm.

"My save file keeps corrupting at the auto save whenever I try to enter The Strip. I don't know why this is, but I'm going to make a new character on my normal profile tonight anyway. I'll be really angry if this game has bad issues like that though.

It goes to a black screen and then if I turn off the system and turn it back on, the autosave shows up as a corrupt file.

I never had any trouble until I reached level 14 and took the Jury Rigging perk. I repaired a ton of my gear with all kinds of similar items. Now whenever I try to go to The Strip, the game will freeze and corrupt the auto save. Not good."

I am also having this same problem... i am basically locked out of ever entering the strip again... cant change any of my companions, cant finish quests. definitely not starting over when i am hearing other people having the same game breaking bug as me.

Yes it freezes a lot and i make manual saves constantly.... Cleaned Cache.. installed game to HD. so this is definately a game issue and not a xbox issue.

At-least im getting a ton of side quests done by being prevented from actually finishing the main story...

Wow dude this svcks. Every bug I'm hearing of seems unavoidable and game breaking. Seriously Beth/Obsidian? These don't sound like things that should be missed by testers. And to top that off my "pre-order" is going to be even later so I'm even more disappointed. I almost feel like canceling it reading these threads.

Same Here. I got up at 11:30 and drove over to Game Stop to puck up a copy at 12:01 am. I stated playing it and got to the strip. Once I got there, I came to a door on the left side of the stripe to get it in and it just freezes. I thought maybe my Xbox was just so excited like I was that it lost it's mind, so I reset it. NOPE, SAME PROBLEM. WTF GUYS. COME ON. I paid 65 bucks for this game. I expect to at least be able to enter NEW VEGAS in Fallout New Vegas.

I really hope this is fixed because any bug that prevents you from even completing the game.... that's some very sloppy Quality Assurance going on at the Developer...

How games developers get away with this sort of thing.

I don't know how something like this could be over-looked.

This is likely corruption of the Auto Save file. Remembering to save often and on different save slots will reduce problems like these. Just like Fallout 3 and Oblivion before it, DO NOT TRUST the Auto Save Function.

Wow, Thanks for the useless comment, did you even read my post?

I MANUALLY SAVE MY GAME every 10-15 minutes and every single one of them FREEZES THE XBOX on trying to enter the strip just like the other 3 people that have the same problem as me.

I refuse to rollback my playtime 20 hours just to not know how the damn game broke in the first place! It could repeat itself because i did nothing wrong !

Yeah Eatsdawolf i know your trying to defend the game to max lengths but, There is no denying the problems.

I saw the thread you made about the steps to playing the game. I did not have to do a single one of those for oblivion or fall out 3 . This game has problems and needs to be patch asap!

Dude. relax, nobody is trying to blame you. It's not the fault of the players that the game has glitches.

What he is trying to say is that saving every 10 minutes can save you from an horrible bug.

No its only the Fault of the Poor QA of the company that makes the game.

but i am tired of people white knighting buggy fallout games

Oh Clear your Cache! that will fix it!

Oh Install the game to your HDD! that will fix it!

Oh save your game every 15 steps you walk!

Holy Catballs. I quit Final Fantasy 14 to play this game because it was buggy as hell... what was I thinking.

Yeah...I understand the frustration as I expect I'll be feeling it soon as well...Way to repay our enthusiasm and support Obsidian. Really nice way to say thanks to all the fans; by not even making a decent effort to polish NV. I find it hard to believe some of the guys who made the game played it and didn't run into any of this stuff. They probably swept it under the rug for the sake of better sales before Xmas season rolled around.

Thought i join and say im having the same problem as the others in this thread, this is bs everytime i try to enter the strip my game freezes and i have to restart my xbox then it says my auto save is corrupt.
Im glad i save my game alot because this happens everytime i try to go into the strip, im not touching this game untill they come out with a patch to fix it.
Im waiting a week and if i dont see a patch by then im returning my game and going to play fallout 3 dlc's i havent got to yet.
I feel the pain, as do all the other members in this thread all we can do is hope for is a speedy patch to fix this bs (not too speedy dont wanna [censored] things up even more)
later guys hopefully they can get this fixed soon so we can continue our stories.

I think you are right the game was rushed for the xmas sales it seems they rush games out the door nowadays devolopment for fallout 3 started in july of 2004 the game went gold on october 9 2008 and released on the 28 thats over 4 years of devolepment and look at how less buggy it is now yes I know on FO3 they had to do everything from scratch but still now after reading this article http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/falloutnewvegas/news.html?sid=6280866 i believe they started devoloping new vegas in feb of 2009 which means FONV was in dev for only like 1 year 8 months I mean come on you can not release a game of this size and scope in under 2 years what were they thinking this came should have had like a march april 2011 release 4 years vs under 2 years lol

Saving regular isnt going to help anyone with this problem, it happens everytime with any save.

I managed to get into the strip last night by going the monorail route, was fine in the first section and i saved, went through a gate and froze when i started walking. The save didnt corrupt but froze when i tried to load it.

Deleted the corrupt autosave to stop the bad loading problems and just playing through random side quests until friday, if there isnt a patch then its onto Fable.

This is incredibly unsettling. I haven't even made it to the strip yet and found a game ending bug for me. My save games are corrupt and won't load. I get an error message that says DLC can't load, do you want to load game without items? I hit yes, and then it says it can't find my hard drive and reverts back to the main menu.

The game is broken, plain and simple. Unless a patch comes out, I don't know what can be done to fix this. If I restart the game, who's to say it won't happen again? Bethesda/Obsidian need to get on these issues ASAP or they are going to have a lot of unhappy fans as they wake up and begin to play.
