Xbox Install = Texture Upgrade?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 2:07 am

Some recent games have come out with a higher resolution texture pack as part of the install package when installed on the xbox hdd.

Does Skyrim have any similar benefits when installed? Or is it only for faster load times?

I can testify that the load times are just as long installed as they are uninstalled, but the 360 is definitely quieter.

It's supposed to upgrade the textures. I don't know if it works, though.

Just in general or because of the texture bug?

It would be cool to get confirmation if there is or isnt a visual benefit for installing the game.

In the description for the 1.2 patch there is this line:

"Fixed issue where textures would not properly upgrade when installed to drive (Xbox 360)"
which I'm assuming is in reference to the texture bug and not an actual upgrade in the visuals. Plus anything that enhances the experience would usually be advertised right?.

doesnt affect the quality of the textures at all.
its not like battlefield 3, where installing the game would mean you get HQ textures.

it just affects loading, and system noise/mechnical load.

loading times arent bad on the 360 tbh. i was expecting horrendous times compared to my pc version from the little 5400rpm drive in my 250gb slim. but i was surprised, theyre quite nippy.
