Im trying to get this damn quest to start and no matter what i do, i cant get it to start. Is there some work around or advice someone can give me. I have a n xbox to so please dont give me pc advice. I really want that house in windhelm and this quest is holding me back. Please help me? Is the blood on the Ice broken? any help is very appreciated!!!

I've only managed to trigger the quest on chars where I haven't done any guild quest lines etc. And to make it trigger,I just fast traveled between Windhelm and another place 3-ish times,then walked to the graveyard at night. On my main save game,I just had to give up on the house,cause it just wont trigger no matter what I do. The pilfer key thing doesn't work,neither does finishing the Civil War quests.

I have the same problem. Really want the house in Windhelm but blood on the ice just won't trigger. so I settled down in Sollitude which is also a nice place. When one of the upcoming updates will fix this broken quest I'll move to Windhelm immediately! You also need this house to become the Thane, Windhelm is the only city i'm not Thane yet :S

If you cant get the quest to start its too late you wont be able to. Wait for a patch that's all we can do.
