So, I have finished the forsworn quest yesterday, sided with Madanach, killed bunch of guards and quest was done. I got the entry saying that the forsworns took credit for my crimes. Took credit my [censored], I still have 6000+ gold pieces on my head in the Reach.

I tried entering setstage MS02 100 again, and tried with player.setcrimegold 0, non of those helped. I now joined the thieves guild, but I didn't seem to find anyone who can take care of my bounty.

Any guidance would be really appreciated!

When you escape from the prison, you're not suppose to fight with them and kill guards. Just leave and watch them do all the killing. They only kill the guards, Thonor, and the Smelting Overseer. No one important.

I did the quest a few days ago. When we came out of the tunnel from the prison into the city, I just watched as everyone was battling. Once the guards were all dead, they left and everyone in town went about their business like it didn't even happen. The guards eventually respawn. But your town is stuck with the ash piles forever because they never go away.

Well they took credit for your PREVIOUS crimes. However, you DID kill guards, therefore you have a bounty! I usually just slip out with the Forsworn and then stand back. I never touch a guard and all will be well the next day. You got a previous save, before you enter the city and kill guards? Or just pay your bounty.

I'm afraid not, I didn't realise this until I came back to the city, and that was quite some time after. Don't have the gold either. Guess I'll have to dump all my stuff somewhere and save some cash
