Yay or Nay For Kinect Shouts?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 5:42 pm

As most of you know in the month of April, there will be an add-on for X-box 360 Skyrim. The add-on includes Kinect shouts, allowing you to use in game shouts from out of game/real life voice commands. But why only shouts? The Add-on is supposed to come with 200 known voice commands that will not only allow you to shout, but do things like talk to somebody, or open your map or inventory. Only 60 would be used for shouts. 140 commands, for other things...

In other news would you want or diswant (Is that a word?) these kinect shouts? Why or why not?

Absolute hate. This will bring more glitches. Thats more glitches for the bug team to fix, they already have pages and pages of bugs to fix. Done.

well there's been several chained threads about it, but i'm all for it. I have a kinect and it does nothing but add to the game. I might not shout at the game all the time but I'll definetly use it to sort the inventory and command my follower.

EDIT: oh yes...and it's free. yes please.

i'll take shout killkams for kinect or not.

but, i'd like to see a "press A" skip function that's possible at any time, for all the killkams.

I think it's kind of lame and cheesy personally... but at the same time, it's free, so

I am strongly against it. Bethesda could have used that to instead add a feature that's more fun like spellmaking, attributes, etc. Kinect is a waste of time, resources, and money.

I'm willing to assume Microsoft may of given them a little push to do it.

I'm not supprised and I also think that M$ did especially since M$ gave Bethesda money to have time excusive DLCs.

Don't have a kinect, so don't care. They really ought to have added things everyone could actually appreciate.

I don't do consoles, but even if I did, I would feel like an utter brainless fool, shouting "FOOS DO.... whatever", at a television. I do enough shouting and cursing at my PC monitor while playing games, but it's all spontaneous and I don't have to worry about enunciation or whether the machine understands me.

Um, yay... it works great for ME3. No reason why it won't work for Skyrim. I can't wait, I tell you.

Like having a pre-existing API that can handle it and already works for other titles? Yeah. That's a real push.
