Would you take the risk of losing stuff you stored in chest, closets,...?

I'm asking this because I stored my stuff by category all over the house (eg: Weapons in the bedroom, ingredients in the kitchen, ...)

Or do they just keep away from my items?

It's maybe a silly question but I am not in the mood to lost my valuable (unique) stuff.
