You are SPECIAL, a mod for Skyrim

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 12:23 pm

Hey peeps.

I am working on a "you are SPECIAL" mod for Skyrim which adds primary stats in almost the same way Fallout does.

Anyway I am adding strength requirements to each and every weapon type so that if the requirement isn't met than the weapon cannot be equipped, therefore I need advice on what the strength requirements should be.

Please post feedback on what the strength requirement should be for each of the following weapon types:

Strength ranks scale from 1 to 10 (with 10 being the strongest and most effective rank)

Daggers (one handed)
Swords (one handed)
Axes (one handed)
Maces (one handed)

Two handed swords
Two handed axes
Two handed maces

Shortbows
Longbows

A better way would be to just make them less effective the further below the str requirement you are.

As to the actual requirements, it's not as cut and dry as a dagger should require x or a one handed sword should require y. Daedric is heavier than iron so a daedric sword should require a higher str than an iron sword.

Scroll down a bit to see the weight of the different weapons. Looking at them the heaviest weapon is a daedric warhammer at 31 weight, so an easy way to do this might be to just divide the weight of each weapon by 3 and round it off making the daedric warhammer require 10 str while a daedric mace might require 7 and a daedric war axe 6.
