You can do this if you're bored in Skyrim.

I've noticed some people coming to the forum to express themselves that they are bored in Skyrim.

I think that generally people are bored of a game when there are no challenges left or nothing to explore and discover.
So this is what you can do to avoid getting bored easily:

1 | Don't ever use any fast travel (and I don't count the carriage as fast travel).

With this way, the experience of exploring and discovering new things will be a much more enhanced experience.

2 | Create a story for yourself while you play, live a little in the game. Go out hunting in the woods with your best friend Faendal, maybe you manage to kill a moose for dinner.

We call this role playing, and many might be intimidated by the idea but don't be afraid. Give it a try, for the only thing that can stop you is the lack of imagination. There is endless of possibilities.

3 | Play the game without using any healing. Because without restoration spells and healing potions, life can be much more challenging.

This way you will get a greater challenge and the choices you make will be more significant. You may have to run more often or hide, depending on your skill. But it will be so much more exciting.

4 | Give yourself an even greater challenge, play as a mage without helpers (no summons, no lydia, no helpers at all). And take no points into health.

You may feel like glass but by using illusion, alteration with destruction, there won't be any lack of tools to destroy your enemies with, and it can present a new challenge for you.

But you may have just burned out, it happens. So it's probably better to try some other games and maybe take a trip to Skyrim later again when Dawnguard is out, perhaps?
So what advice would you give to people who feel they are bored in Skyrim? :woot:

Play as a vampire with achluophobia and you can pretty much cover every suggestion in the OP.

i'd haveloved this game more if we could eventually get every perk, just saying... but what I love to do is play the role of a hunter, hunting for food and selling the left overs for money for the house or to buy more arrows or something like that. Myne someone could play the role of a traveling salesmen and buy cheap goos somewhere then sell them for a higher price somewhere else (if market economies even work in this game, I never noticed)

If you're on PC, get that "Way of the Monk" mod and play with the conditions of the OP, only using your hand-to-hand skill (added with mod) and some of the weapons added with it. Get a full pick pocketing perk tree too, it's pretty awesome. Add "Dance of Death" mod for some badass killing moves.

I strongly agree with suggestions 1 and 2. I am far too chicken to attempt 3 and 4 at this time though I'm working on a true mage now for the first time ever.

Interesting way to play. I play a hunter/gatherer with gigantasophobia which he developed in game.

Give your characters quirks. Does he/she collect specific things or do they hoard? Are they afraid of anything? Do they have any rituals that they perform? Play someone with OCD (take torches from their sconces and put them back 5 times, for example). Can they be considered a show off? etc.

There is no end of things you can do to deepen you experience with your game, but the single most valuable bit of advice anyone can give you (at least in my opinion) is to specialise. Don't do everything you can with one character, that'll do nothing but ruin your want to play through multiple times.

Give your character OCD and arrange every loose item you see into perfect lines.

I normally find something i want my character to do and build story around...
wanted all daedric stuff in one play through, thinking this is a really selfish and materilistic thing and made a selfish materialist, who's pride makes really lazy(seeing as doing most things as below him) so doesn 't pick up or carry much and use followers to do thing for him (see those swinging blades run through them and pull that lever) and denys most quest because he see's no gain from them. always eats large expensive meals and sleeps in inns or houses everyday
most of the game ended up trying to feed his expensive taste
