If you die in skyrim..where would dovahkinn go?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 9:37 pm

your character is the master of most if not all of the guilds right? so one day when your killed or die of old age.. where do you end up? do they let you in soverngarde or is your soul given to nightengale or one of the other gods that have a claim on your soul you gave them.

A necromancer puts your soul in a soul gem and makes your body into his zombie pet.

By my understanding, this depends upon race and religion. As an Argonian, I imagine that as long as I'm not soul trapped I'll return to the Hist when I die.

Maybe i'll end up in a Warp In The West type of situation described in lore where all things are possible and happen at the same time. Sort of like quantum reality as i come back in another incarnation of myself as eternal champion or..eternal villain...or ying and yang shades of grey ever walking up the mountainous path of change.

Makes me wonder...if Dovahkin was holding the black star, would it take his/her soul?

I don't know if there's anything that says I have to be guild master of everything. I have some characters who lead guilds, but others who don't. Honestly, I like the latter.. playing a relative nobody, who has one thing no one else has - the ability to absorb dragon souls.

edit: Oh, to answer your question, I guess characters like this go to some standard paradise or haven for their respective race, like sovngarde, etc..

Depends on whether afterlife lore in ES is real, or ideology.

Well, it's an interesting thought, and very funny either. Really love poker, unfortunatelly, there's not a single player in skyrim. =P

The dragonborne is a dragon born in a human body, right, so wouldn't they go wherever dragons go? Seems like the dragons in the game that don't get their souls devoured by the dovahkiin end up in some sort of dormant state that they can be resurrected from.

for me Oblivion, its just a matter or what realm. Dragonborn or not there is no way they are opening the doors of sovngarde to me

I Its a blessing granted by Akatosh, with no requirement as to how that happens. In game books say as much.

Probably end up taking over Hircene's job, so he can take a rest. Then in turn finding my own replacement after a few hundred years.

I'm sure I've answered a thread like this before, but anyway... I think the dragonborn belongs first to Akatosh, since he has the soul of a dragon. So it's whatever afterlife he controls.

where ever the hell he/she wants, plus you probably have some dragon souls laying around to trade off your obligations lol. If nothing else your dovahsoul would be recycled in the dream sleeve to be plopped into the next mortal blessed/cursed enough to be a hero

Personally i think you go to sovengarde to chill with shor and his hoard of heroes, i mean i'm sure he'll need you for the awful fight at the end of time

Souls in TES are explicitly divisible: the different parts of your soul can go to different places. However, note that "Akatosh" doesn't control any sort of afterlife: energy aligned towards any of the Aedra floats into Aetherius waiting to be "reincarnated".

As an avid supporter of the dark brotherhood I suspect that when my character dies that I will be reborn in the Void and continue my unending service to Sithis the dread father

But, I'm guessing there would be a divine deal, and repercussion that could explain future events
