So if you fast travel more, dragon encounters would increase

Because on all of my characters, my dragon encounters are rather sparse, im thinking this could be due to me not fast travelling at all, though usually i'll encounter 2 dragons in 30 mins, then none for about 10+ hours real time.
So does fast travel really increase dragon encounters? For example im at whiterun, does fast travelling to whiterun (yes to the same location) trigger more dragon encounters? I need more dragon souls lol

Edit: Progressing the main quest didnt really help as well

I'd forget about fast travel if i were you :) It's so much more interesting to explore the world walking on your own feet and see the marvel Bethesda has created. Yes dragon encounters are bound to happen if you just walk around.

Try moving along the main quest. After I finished the main quest I got dragons dropping on my head every 10-15 minutes, even in towns. I thought they would stop coming after the main quest was over but they actually come more frequently.

Also, there are many opportunities to get cool shouts and plently of dragons souls along the way on the MQ

I am not cerain how the programming works for the dragon encounters. I would check into it, but I do not have access to the files at work. That being said, it does seem like I have encountered more after a fast travel. I do not fast travel often though, or even ride a horse ( I am that guy that runs eveywhere picking up all of the ingredients along the way lol).

I am not sure if it is just my imagination, but It does seem like I encounter more dragons after doing a fast travel.

Definitely worth checking into the programming to see if there is an algorithm for how dragon appearances occurr.

Edit: I have over 153 hours and maybe have seen about 30 dragons total.

I think that if you travel to a far off location (meaning not FT to where you already are) there is a chance of one spawning.

Fast Travel makes dragon encounters more frequent because Fast Travel still passes in-game time.

My first character Fast Traveled a lot, and the dragons seemed never ending. Now, I run everywhere on my second character and the dragon encounters are much, much more rare, in terms of how many minutes (or sometimes hours) have to pass in real time before seeing another one. When I was FTing it seemed like every other warp would result in a dragon, which was actually quite annoying. If you want a lot of dragons, FT back and forth across the map.
