Do you feel sometimes that Bethesda read the books of George

Do you feel sometimes that Bethesda read the books of George Martin, Song Ice and Fire?
And in those moments, IF you ever feel that.. which moments are they?

The first book was published in 1996, and I feel there is some parts in Skyrim that has something in common with this book, almost like Bethesda got some inspiration from the book.

I say this in a good way, I love both. Even, I have the guilty pleasure of prentending I am playing some kind of Game of Thrones game. But we do lack some mods that would make that type of RP more "realistic".

I am in the process of watching the Game of Thrones series on dvd.

Whether or not the books inspired parts of Skyrim, I'd recommend people watch it prior to playing Skyrim. I love the settings of both.

No because Skyrim would've been much better if it actually was inspired by Song of Ice and Fire.

Only some of the book titles "A dance in fire" for example.

I am sad to say.. You speak the truth.. You can't compare the story between Skyrim and Song of Ice and Fire because it's just on another level.

Now, if they we're to create Elder Scrolls more after like the books, if they made a deal. That would be a challenge for Bethesda and perhaps out of their comfort zone.
But they could pull it off, it could still have the wonderful sense of The Elder Scrolls freedom and having story quests and characters from the Son og Ice and Fire, man. I don't know but..

Sad yes, I would love Bethesda to move out of their comfort zone and actually take a risk!
Yes it is a risk, because you would have to work with different people and there would be a much wider more passionate audience to make happy.
You can't simply make and go, this is how I like it. You would have to work with Martin and it's sad. Would love to see that happen!

This is one of the things I would go back in time with time machine to make-happen!

Ah, the Song of Ice and Fire: same old low magic fantasy, with MOAR [censored]. I got through two episodes of the TV show and couldn't shake the feeling that I was watching a slightly retooled version of Proncraft (or whatever that was called. The one with the girl who actually played WoW and got banned when it came to light that she was an actual pronstar). If gamesas didn't follow that series' lead, no big loss.

I suggest reading the books then. There is so much detail the TV show just can't portrait.

Bethesda was actually offered the chance to make a Song of Ice and Fire game, but turned it down because they wanted to work on their own universe and lore.

Personally, the game only reminded me of the books once. I noticed in forts, there are dummies on the walls, equipped with shield, swords and sometimes bows, which reminded me of a certain scene is the books that most those who read it could possibly remember.
