Do you have any pet peeves about some videogames?

I only have one real pet peeve in a lot of the RPG games.

Warriors and Armor.

Almost every single game I have played makes warriors wear the most heavy and unrealistic armor. To be effective at all you have to dress head to toe in metal plates. Especially when most of the stories are about adventurers.
And why must all characters with shields have to be decked out in the most armor available? Doesn't that kind of defeat the point of the shield? I'd figure that the shield would do the most defending, and that you don't want armor thats to restricting and heavy, since your moving your arms non stop.
I hate it how most RPGs don't even give you a choice. And if they do, it severely gimps your character. Why must every character with a shield be a "tank" and have to wear a full plate suit?

I know that asking for realism in an RPG may sound crazy, but I actually like to roleplay in my games.

Thats one of the reasons I love the TES series. Its one of the only games that lets me play the character I want.

Anyone feel that way too? Or am I just being crazy?

Edit: Believe it or not, IMO, the legend of Zelda had it right. All Link wears is a chainmail tunic and a sword. And the animations aren't to over the top.

In general?

How there seems to be little option other than to kill things most of the time.

Pet peeves?

Unskippable loading or cutscenes.
User interfaces that can't be configured or toggled to get rid of :swear: "Press e to do an action you've done many, many times before". In fact the general spate of really awful UI's for which the designers need to be pilloried.
Online requirements for single player games.
The obsession with warrior/mage/thief stereotypes.

How they're developed for consoles and ported to PC and not the other way around.

Invisible walls. Kills the immersion factor so quick.

Also, when you play against the computer and it's very obvious they let them cheat. (Every racing game in existence)

Not really, allthough few very minor things in fallout NV annoyed me. You visit mr house, has a nice room, ok well he is the big guy in control. I hope my room looks half this good. You have a dark red windowless room. Horrible, then salt in the wound, when you visit the bar and see it looks nicer than your room.

Also there is no toilet and bath in the sink... Yes that minor detail annoyed me.

Oh and npcs I cant kill, in fallout 3 I wanted to kill some people, they were immortal, it only got worse in skyrim. That racist drunk in Windhelm, whos only purpose is a brawl. Is tagged as essential. Thats right, a pointless and annoying npc is essential to your skyrim experience. If he dosent turn out to be Talos in an expnsion pack, there will be no justifying his immortality.
