You know I can truly understand Mjoll the Lioness's point

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:14 am

So I was doing a darkbrother hood forever quest to carry out a contract by killing the poor fishwife in Riften.

http://youtu.be/ZoFtNmT4wpc<~~~ me doing the contract

And I can't seem to think that Mjoll the Lioness is right. Riften is one giant corrupted city. Not only I murdered a poor defensiveness woman, but also decapitated her in public.

Are these guards so corrupted because their not getting paid enough? What is the big deal here? I hope beth can establish another huge sage to clean up the corruption from riften by getting rid of certain people :)

I dunno what the "reason" is (well, because Maven wants it that way I guess?) - but yeah - Mjoll IS right about the town. I hope someone does a mod so I clean the place from top to bottom....

You know what's intriguing? Bender being in Riften. That might be the reason.

Yeah bender would love being in Riften. It's just his style being there too :D

If Mjoll thinks Riften is bad...by the eight, Markarth. Where the 'bloodiest beef in the Reach' is sold, and the forsworn aren't killing people in broad daylight for their king who is not being held in Cidhna Mine.

the thing about mjoll is she's a crusader, she's out looking to make the world a better place and I can respect that, the problem is that she's going about it all wrong, you can't beat the system from outside the system, that would just be oppression.

what I would do is to work inside the system to change it for the better, for example, have the theives guild only steal things people aren't attached to, they seem rather adept at tomb raiding and could make a very nice living stealing long lost valuables from the depths of dwemer ruins and bandit camps, steal from the bandits, give to yourself.

It's all well and good to have the world in your pocket (they get stifled and you get to breathe), but it's nothing compared to having the world eat out of your hand (they get fed and you get respect, while everybody gets to smell the roses ([censored] ROSES [censored]!))

True in main, ZJ.... but so far it's not true in fine, because there's no way to "go there" with the current iteration of TG in game. Unfortunately.

From my limited time in Riften, when doing skooma busting missions, Jarl Laila outright makes a comparison to Mjoll when talking to the Dovahkiin. The Jarl might be clueless, but apparently Mjoll has made quite the impression on Riften, just a shame it's not explored more.

Oh, I QUITE agree. Talk about missing the boat as far as potential for a GREAT questline! Sad....

I find it ironic that you have to go to the most corrupt city in the province to get married!
