You're Not Supposed To Be In Here...

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 2:44 pm

This has to be one of the most stupid things in the game. I honestly don't understand why Bethesda forced every NPC to just repeat that line over and over if you trespass. I'm testing something out and I was trying to complete a certain quest by having my follower steal a certain string of items, but one of them is in a trespass zone and my follower just keeps repeating that line. Are there any followers in the game who will ignore the trespass?

Different followers have different morality and are more open to criminal activities than other followers.

Who is your follower?

I think it's a very cool feature.

The dark elf mercenary from Whiterun. She has no problem murdering anybody I tell her to, but she can't trespass. I haven't seen any character not say that damn line.

It's poorly executed. They should say that line, and call the guards if you take too long, but you should still be able to talk to them.

IDK, Jenassa should be up for any crime. I've never had a follower complain about trespassing.

As far as your other remark, people do call the guards if you take too long. I guess it just depends on who and where, but I have entered places I wasn't supposed to before, and get a bounty for it.

Have you tried talking to them while trespassing? As in, when it actually counts as trespassing on the crime sheet? It's always happened to me. Every follower.

I don't recall one way or another... with my character I don't trespass often due to RP. I just know that the times I have trespassed, I haven't had my follower telling me I shouldn't be in here.

They only tell you that if you talk to them.

I found a workaround. If you hold down the interact button, you'll skip the conversation and it will automatically go into interact mode, so you can get them to steal items even if they won't talk to you because of trespassing. Now I just need to find a way to get her inside of Snow Veil Sanctum...
