You're playing it wrong...

Hey. I'm a 14 years old guy, and I love Skyrim. I love exploring, walking in the plain, questing, all that stuff, even if it is shallow as hell and has (most of the time) no choices of how you complete a quest (which is why I prefer New Vegas).

The other day, my friend and I were talking about Skyrim, and another dude came in and said (loosely translated from french to english):

"I think Skyrim is too big. Y'know, having to walk all the way to get to a location is so boring... It should be smaller, 'cause well I dont want to waste all my time walking before I can teleport (that's right, he said teleport) to it. I just want to kill some dudes!

That... irritated me. One does not simply play Skyrim to "kill some dudes".
What do you think?

One plays Skyrim to enjoy themselves. Some want to play it as an action game... let them. Tell your friend about how to fast travel and let him play his game. You can have a completely different experience. Think of Skyrim as more of a toy than a game. You can do different things with a toy.

Well, Beth has always said that you should do whatever you want with their games. Forget the main quest, and head off to explore. The exploration doesn't seem worth as much as it did with fallout and previous TES, but your friend has the right to play the game his way. There are times when i just want to 'kill some dudes', I'll find the nearest fort and lop off some heads, other times, I want to make some cash or advance the story. It's up to you, that's their model.

What he said was like saying " That F1 goes too fast. I just want to go buy groceries".
