I've read them all, but some I read playing Morrowind or Oblivion. Still looking for any books I've not read yet, but my journal stat is at 546 books read - there's probably not many real books left in game for me to read at present. :(

Well I began that way, but when you're finding 7 books in the one bookcase it can become a bit tedious when you're just in the mood for adventuring, that said I do collect them, I have perhaps 900 books in the chests of my 5 houses. Lot's of doublers and triplers there probably.

I've read quite a few of them, but it's been over a long period of time so I can't remember which ones by name. I'm still in the process of collecting however.

I do read every journal I come across though, as they aren't as long. And I have read at least 60 books (probably much more).

I always look for the ones with the subject I like , for example Orcs , or the Civil war , haven't found any so I keep searching !

Generally if the book seems interesting I'll read a few pages..

Yeah there's books on Orcs. I love reading about them, "Orsinium and the Orcs" is one, there's a few more I've collected, can't remember their names.

I like books about the ancient Nords as well, and I read the book about the Oblivion Crisis, just to see what it said about my ancestor.

The books about Potema and Barenziah are well worth a read, the one's about Pelinal Whitestrake as well. Finding every version is the tricky part though, I probably have them stored in all different chests.

Yeah I like to re-read journals sometimes. Like in Oblivion, Mathieu Bellamont's journal was really interesting, I read that several times.

I do try to at least read any skill books I pick up... there should really be a patch/mod so as you have to get to the final page before getting the bonus... seems like cheating otherwise. I will also on principle read anything titillating - "Argonian Maid", "Berenziah" etc, and anything that reinforces my dislike of Elves- "The Rising Threat" etc. The various books of theology/lore about varieties of Deadra, the "Talos Mistake" or what-have-you however, I can't imagine how anyone wades through them... what a snooze-fest.
Probably why I chucked in university... both Mages and real life... I suppose.

Join the club... usually leave a bunch scattered about the bedroom for realism... what with the blasted "werewolf curse" my character is probably a fitful sleeper anyway.

Apart from possible level-ups, are there actually any benefits to reading books? Like clues to secrets or stuff like that? I've read only a few to the end of the book, and I've collected loads to put on bookshelves in my houses, (to make them look a bit more homely).

Well you can get quests from some books. "Lost Legends" and "The Legend of Red Eagle", start quests when reading them. Probably more that do as well. Also the quality of writing in some of the books is very high (as you would expect), Barenziah, Wolf Queen books are really great reads. I personally really enjoyed the Woodcutters Wife as well and the Cabin in the Woods.

But if you're not really interested in the lore then no, there isn't much point in reading them. Some books give you locations of guardian stones as well, and some are guides to cities in Skyrim.
