If you're on the fence about buying.

So, I've had this game pre-ordered forever, finally it releases and right after download I of course run it hoping to get into game..which runs fine aside from some serious fps issues in certain parts..and i have 2 1.8g 260gtx sli'd a 3.20ghz quadcore duo with 12 gigs of ram..I should be getting more than 40ish fps on any game much less one that's not even visually breathtaking..but anyways that's not even my grype after playing game for like 8 hours I call it a night and wake up this morning to auto save reverted to the autosave when u first leave the newb town..so my opinion is if you're even considering buying this game give it a few months maybe years before you do, maybe by 2012 they'll have it running semi-bug free like they finally got fallout 3 running in 2010..

I've done the research, and tryed that specific fix, my point is..I regret that I paid 60 bucks to beta test their game I mean having to delete all your saves everytime you feel like playing? Come on I paid for a finished product, not to help them develop one.

Autosaves exisit purely so you don't loose a whole heap of progress in the event of a crash/power outage/nuclear war etc. You should never rely on them for constant saves, stop being lazy and spent the 20 seconds manually saving each time you finish playing.

While I agree it's not a hassle to manual save, I definitely see where he's coming from.

He shouldn't have to scour the bugs thread before playing the game just to make sure he doesn't ruin his experience.
And he should be able to trust that the autosave feature is going to work like it should.

These "oh well, should have planned ahead" and "If you weren't lazy, this wouldn't have happened" arguments are kind of base-less when it comes to what he's REALLY saying here.

Autosave is not a "failsafe" that is only supposed to be a last resort.
It was fully intended and implemented to be used as a go-to save file if you wanted.
He is not some sort of crazy person for relying on auto-saves.

If your on the fence about buying make sure you realize the game is unplayable past a reasonable amount of time in until theres a fix.. at least thats the case on console versions. Any issues report to the above link, they like to take forever so the more people post thier problems the better.

If you're on the fence, my PS3 version of FNV has been played continuously for 5 plus hours and I've had ZERO crashes, covering 1/3rd of the total map, which is giant. The game runs well, but for a slight load hiccup if you're constantly running instead of walking as the scenery loads.

Great game so far for PS3. Only 1 glitch of a scorpion flying into the air.

The auto/quick save issues have been around since Morrowind. This should not be a shock to anyone familiar with previous Gambryo engine games from Bethesda.

Never rely on them, ever. I turn off all but 'Auto save on travel' and it's solely used as "fail safe, hail marry, hope I don't lose all that progress" backup. I manually save about every 10 minutes otherwise.

First thing I do in any game like this (FO3/Oblivion) is turn off Autosave at travel/rest/wait. Drives me nuts lol. I think I'm capable of deciding when an appropriate time to save my game is. I think you are too! :)

I manually save pretty much everywhere I go. Save before I talk to someone, before I enter a building/area, hell every time before I get into an encounter.

It's not a "beta" just because there are some bugs in the game. They can't predict and test EVERY single piece of PC equipment, and they all have an effect on your machine. It's why you bought them.

Besides, if the development cycle were longer, you'd piss and moan about how long it's taking to develop the game instead of claiming to experience it in beta. You're pissed off because it doesn't work for you; you don't care about anybody else's problems. You have no logical basis of argument for your position.

Game rungs at 50-65 FPS the whole time for me, maybe your computer has some issues.
Only issue I have come across is some of the NPC getting stuck or walking wierd at times.
