Do you think if we beg enough, BGS will put in the Jam stuff

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 5:15 am

Werebears, spears, vampire lords, lycanthropy perk tree, mounted combat, flails, combining spells, and dark dungeons are among the things us fans have been asking for. To add to that, they show epic mudcrabs, fat giants, building a home anywhere in the wilderness (with a skeleton butler!), and then some.

There is no way anybody on these forums could not want all of this. Todd "doesn't know" whether they'll end up as DLC or free add-ons or what, but from what I've seen, the outcry is enormous--we're all totally jelly.

Edit: A video link to the important bits of the jam. While these links litter the forums as of the last hour, I think it's important to post at least this at the beginning of every relevant thread.

Edit: A poll thread is better to discuss this. I requested a lock for this (hoping for an answer soon). Please join the discussion here:

No, Im pretty sure they understand we want it.....since half of it it stuff that is constantly asked for.

The reason he 'doesnt know' is that these are concepts and ideas.....if they dont fit in the game they arent happening....if the xbox cant run it...it wont happen.....if an idea is too buggy/OP/hard to implement fully it wont happen.

Yeah these are proof of concept not fully working mods. So we will have to wait, but as I have said before, it is hard to watch the video, because my screen is covered with all my money.

Those features are legal money printers.

Consoles may not be as powerful as PCs in most respects, but they can still receive software updates--and remember, they're still working with the same base product; many mods can already work on consoles if the information was present. Things like the test room still exist in console versions of Skyrim even though they can't be accessed.

Also, on whether something is OP, I recall Todd saying that BGS cares more to improve things that are UP rather than nerf things that are OP for sake of the fun factor.

And finally, you are a lost cause if you think Bethesda would not release a buggy product xD

When I refer to console not being able to handle it....the better water shaders, seasonal changing.....we dont know how they are making that, and things like better shaders often have a hardware hit.....and the consoles are already maxed out.

And when I mean buggy....for example, the vampire lord......that could easily break a quest if you are in that form and can't get out. You have to put a lot of thought into things otherwise it will break stuff.

Ah, you're right. I meant in terms of things like werebears and spears; I expect that to be available to consoles beyond any doubt. Graphical enhancements, like footprints in the snow (so long as they're nothing more than graphical enhancements) probably wouldn't make it, but that doesn't bother me; Skyrim looks good enough.

And on the vampire lord, I thought that looked buggy enough in the Jam video. It was the only thing that I thought wasn't impressive.

I think the GOTY edition is a long way away, perhaps a year from release or so...but it's going to be the best and most worthy GOTY I've ever seen, if all of this gets into it.

And mind you, none of what was shown had anything to do with an expansion--imagine what they have in store that they haven't shown us!

I'm sure some of the things we saw in the jam video will be added. I think Todd is saying he isnt sure because he doesn't know which of the things run good with Skyrim.

Depends if it's all in one big chunky dlc then yes, but if they release one at a time like they did in a oblivion and making it cost quite a lot then hell no.
