Do you think Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch could work in this g

Well what do you think? Do you think that they could add a Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch mode easily enough in this game? I know I would love to see one for sure!

*Apologies if there is already a question or poll on this. I did look before creating this thread. If it's a duplicate, please delete this and point me to the correct place so I can discuss it! Thanks!*

It would undermine all the effort that went into developing the objective game mode aspect of Brink. I can see it happening in PC games through a deathmatch mod. Then again not sure if they released the SDK's so people can make mods to Brink.

no, dont split the community up by making multiple gametypes. I think it would be possible to make different objectives that could mimic certain gametypes in other games though: control point, ctf....

I'd like more objective game types(Read: Scenario maps like we have, or just straight out "Capture these points ABC then explode their "Base of Operations"). The same ones over and over will get stale after a while. But not T/DM, that completely negates the "Team Aspect" SD was trying for and just hurles the "I have a faster trigger finger, so Resistance win!" attitude into a team-game.

After typing that, I realized that my ACB-Explode idea is very similiar to SOCOM's Last Defense gameplay, which is pretty damn fun.

Yeah I'd like to see some strictly death match and TDM. But if you really look at Brink's game types it already is TDM. I'm more of an objective style player in first person shooters anyway so Brink suits me perfectly. Brink could have CTF or some sort of Assault type game like in the Halo series but really doesn't seem necessary to me. The only thing I know without a doubt that I want to see more of is weapons and outfits which I'm sure SD will add more of later on. Still bummed you can only play one player per console :(

I really want to say "yes". Here's my thinking.on this though. This game is NOT meant for it. There is no shown k/d there is no way of seeing how many kills you have so all of that would have to be added and that is NOT what this game is supposed to be. Doing this would turn it into a CoD style game of run and gun and not work with your team. NOT what this is supposed to be.

I do agree there needs to be some variation but TD doesn't fit or seem right.

this game puts a focuson objective gameplay, and one orboth of those would destroy that focus . although, think of what it would mean, story-wise...
Security exterminating the Resistance, and the Resistance slaughtering Security. it doesn't fit.

I thought Bomb Squad was a good one i could see being brought in this game like a VIP engineer...?

If you want TDM, and have a decent number of friends who also want TDM, get together, start a private match with bots turned off, and agree not to do ANY objectives.

If you want a Domination-type match, same deal, but allow players to capture command posts.

Of corse it could, but I don't want it in this game, that would destroy any teamwork there is, and this game is all about teamwork.

Eh, theres other games to play if you want TDM.

Granted even in games like Black Ops where TDM is king the other game modes like Demo or Sab or CTF are actually very popular and theres always games for them. But I feel that in Brinks case it would just hurt the game more than help it.

I dont particularly care one way or the other though, if I dont want to play TDM I just wouldnt play TDM.

i think releasing ffa and tdm modes in a dlc with maps specifically designed for them would be one of the smartest things they could do in October before battlefield 3 and modern warfare 3 come out. just saying.

Team death match would be a bad idea, to easy to basically spawn camp. But other objective game modes would be welcome like CTF or some Domination, sure their already working on ideas.

They can always introduce a balanced objective gametype like capture the flag.

Explosive deliverance. Your objective?

Go to the middle of the map and construct a bomb out of a weapons depot with an engineer. Then deliver the bomb to the enemy spawn point/base. The resistance base can be a boat while the securities can be a helicopter. Whoever delivers the bombs and destroys the enemies spawn point wins

Also, an alternative to CTF: Capture the documents.

Each team has a base with a document case, and has to both defend their documents and attempt to capture the enemy team's.

Basically, it may as well be CTF, but it's not a flag.

Voted yes, Although I'm not sold on the idea of having it. Fact is though, TDM/DM can work with any game lol. I don't care if the game is called Unicorns and Rainbows or Dumptrucks and Bulldozers......

Well when you have a game whose core gameplay mechanic is moving anything objective based probably won't work out so well (as we've seen.) Thus we are left with one obvious alternative, and one that I hope makes it in the game within the next two weeks.

no, dont split the community up by making multiple gametypes.

No, don't give people choice, let's all force them to do the same thing despite their wants and preferences?

If people want TDM they will get TDM. And if not from Brink then from something else they'll revert back to. So, regardless of what you do you will split the community, but at least with multiple gametypes you'll split them into different subsets of the same game.

I just wish that the moving wasn't always the same. I wish there was a random approach to each map instead of the same 8 objectives the maps give us.

Which is where TDM comes in. With decentralized objectives (IE. the opposing team) you have a much better opportunity to use the map and thus actually make something of the SMART system. With centralized ones (IE. fixed objectives, which is what we have now) you don't because all SMART does is get you from fixed point A to fixed point B (where the game takes place) with very little to do in the name of "combat" in between.

Of course they could implement it. But should they? I say [censored] NO!

If you want to aimlessly run around and shoot people or camp some corner somewhere nobody is going to stop you. No need for a separate game mode when you already do plenty of shooting at the enemy with the game as is.

more options is always a good thing, there's only so much longer we can deal with repeating the campaign so why not add some other modes even if it's not a version of TDM? It would definitely keep it fresh, although I really am having fun now that I'm not lagging out of matches anymore, I can't help but feel like all we do is continuously play the story...
