Well when you have a game whose core gameplay mechanic is
moving anything objective based probably won't work out so well (as we've seen.) Thus we are left with one obvious alternative, and one that I hope makes it in the game within the next two weeks.

No, don't give people choice, let's all force them to do the same thing despite their wants and preferences?
If people want TDM they will get TDM. And if not from Brink then from something else they'll revert back to. So, regardless of what you do you will split the community, but at least with multiple gametypes you'll split them into different subsets
of the same game.
