Do you think I deserve to be in the dawnguard beta?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 8:39 pm

Im talking about my Bethesda product purchases.

Ive bought the following.

Oblivion (xbox - disk version)
Oblivion (xbox - digital version)
Oblivion (PC - GOTY version)
Oblivion (DLC - horse armor, vile lair, wizard tower, mehrunes razor (got it free), knights of the nine, shivering isles, pirates whatever lol, and the free fighter stronghold)

Fallout 3 (xbox -collectors edition)
Fallout 3 (xbox - digital copy)
Fallout 3 (DLC - whatever, all the packs.)

Skyrim - (xbox - collectors edition)

also I got RAGE and dint think it svcked =p. actualy loved it...

Im definitly a day one Doom 3 BFG edition purchaser and have bought DOOM 2 for xbox arcade. ( i think doom 1 and doom 1 and 2 on steam where before bethesda bought id, but i have those to)

im wonder if I can use this to get beta access in some special way =p. Ive already signed up for the beta access.

EDIT: o yeah, and i bought morrowind on steam last year, but I thought it was boring.....

Everyone does. It's all about widening the amount of people in the beta who have different specifications to everyone else so you can minimise bugs across these different specifications that people may have. If someone has an amazing Xbox and hard drive might be cool but it wont put them above someone with a standard model.

I've bought all the DLC that you spoke of as well. I've played Rage and Brink and I have full gamerscore in Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim and Oblivion as I have also bought all the DLC.

Sadly this doesn't entitle us to the Dawnguard Beta, as much as I would like it to :)

Same just don't want to get my game bugged though. As for who deserves it is hard to say. As you have seen a LOT of people have created accounts just to join up to beta.

I think John Locke would be a good candidate. Anyone who beleives that knowledge is gained through experience derived from sense perception is bound to become a good beta tester. You just have to test... a lot.

I'd pick people that play Skyrim extensively. The more playtime that is accumulated, the better chance of catching glitches and bugs. Bethesda best interest would be to pick someone that play 8 hours a day then someone that play 2. That's how I would do things anyway.

Having an account on the forum is required so everyone in the beta have a way to provide feedback which is good.

So basicly kids and people without jobs?
Hope not...not everybody has the time or nerve to play 50 hours+ a week.

if i was a game company then i would only release beta's to the people who are seasoned and have experience with my games.

the implimentation of loyalty within a game company helps both the customers and the company out

say if i was bethesda giving out betas, would i:
A) give betas to everyone with the possibility of none of them having experience with previous titles and all the other experienced players not getting an oppertunity
or
B) give betas to the people who have supported and followed my titles for a period of time, actively uses the forums, supports the game.

if seasoned players were only in the beta then they can help me show which direction to take and not to stray too far off path from the title its meant to be.

take battlefield 3 for example:
i've supported battlefield for a LONG time and yes i managed to get the alpha version of it to playtest and help out as much as i can.

straight away a couple of us complained about the map that was given being "too confined and small for a battlefield map" since battlefield had a reputation for huge maps

most of the playtesters were mindless kids that came fresh out of CoD sk00l saying that sniper rifles should be one hit kills, more close quarter engagements and all that jazz.

because of the experienced players being the minority in this game, look at what it has now turned out to be.

i really hope beth can look at other game companies such as DICE before jumping to things

Why is this a thread?

We have no input on the beta choices. And Bethesda certainly isn't going to be trolling the boards when thousands and thousands of people are begging for beta access.
