I created two accounts, one with the NCR, the other the Legion. Does you feel that the game is made to help the NCR and destroy the Legion? 1st of all, the NCR includes their poorly trained infantry troops, rangers, and Veteran Desert Rangers. The Legion just has infantry troops, except there are Centurians and those other expireranced fellas. 2nd, the legion is only located in one main spot, the fort. The NCR has camps and forts all across the Mojave, making it difficult to travel around if you are enemies with them. And lastly, the NCR has troops EVERYWHERE, especially on the strip. And it seems wrong to kill their troops, as they are fighting people who enslave and crusify enemies. What's your opinion on the idea?

I don't care if the game has a big pop up message at the beginning saying 'SUPPORT NCR OR ELSE' I still support Mr. House. :spotted owl:

The game is biased, no doubt, even the amount of quests for both sides is horribly uneven. You'll see apologists claiming it makes sense because the NCR controls the Mojave, I only ask why no land on the east side of the Colorado is available to be seen, as is so evident, the west.

I wouldn't say the game is biased. The NCR have Invaded Mr. House's region, they're trying to convince people to join them, and etc. That's why they are all over. The NCR is the predominate citizenship you'll meet in the area, so it's only to be expected that you hear 'Those Legion guys? I hear they mount each other and are cannibal savages.'

I understand the narrative view of them in the game, but honestly, Mr. House pretty much blows NCR in the dust in terms of impressive. I just see the NCR as a useful ally, I don't hate them like most people here seem to.

Biased opinion So therefore it doesn't count. I mean you can't really deny, there is not the same amount of content for each. Not even close.

It does seem like the canon tilts toward the NCR path. The signs, as you point out (and more), are hard to miss by any one playing the game for the first time. I noticed it almost immediately. It's also instructive that one of the developers was wearing a "New California Republic" t-shirt when he was previewing the game with an audience on TV.

How do we know who is the best, because of the bias, we only get to see one side for the first large portion of play, and they gave the Legion the shaft when giving them content, so we don't get to interact with them as much, so we don't have the grounds to make these assumptions.


Yes, the area... and why can't we see any OTHER area? Because they didn't want to, that would mean more content for CL, less for NCR.

Eh, I'd say alot of it is more for the technical aspects. Or, maybe Obsidian IS using the Legion much as Bethesda used the Enclave. I don't care either way. I'm just trying to present logic fairly representing both sides.

But look how they advertised the game. You only see the NCR Ranger Veterans everywhere you look. I didnt even know what the Legion or Mr House looked like untill I played the game (I didnt have internet at the time).

But Im not complaining. I like the NCR.

Yes it pretty much crams NCR down your throat. As a Californian I came into the game intending to support NCR but the ratio still overwhelmed me.

I don't know, Pre-Release, I was one of the few players who said 'Yep, I'm siding with House no matter how his playthrough turns out. gabrieldan77 made me worry he would be evil. I was so glad Gabe was wrong :laugh:

True. But I think that the NCR ranger was used simply because his armor "looks cool".

It might put players off if an image of Mr. House or a securitron was on the cover (and honestly the Legion's armor isn't all that impressive).

I think so too. But its sort of a Fallout "tradition" to put the "coolest" armor in the game (or one of them) on the front cover.

However, Centurion or Legatus armor, from an angle, could be pretty cool.

But they are still wearing dresses. Most people might have been able to look past that on Lanius but that's about it.

Not going to hate on the Legion for their attempt at traditional Roman military attire.

NCR gotta a lot of love in this game. Hell, I was shocked to find the BoS at Hidden Valley for the first time and they were shooting at me ! It was the midnight patrol I encountered.
I actually thought on my first playthrough that the BoS weren't in the game.

And about the Ranger image, yeah of course. They wanted to create an iconic image to represent the game instantly, so they made the vet rangers.

They did the same thing with the T-45d Paladin on the cover for Fallout 3. T-51b and MK2 power armor were iconic for 1 & 2, so they made the T-45d, because it would make sense that there not gonna have enough T-51b's for all the recruits they are taking in, and their T-51b's are probably falling apart from overuse so that's why you see no BoS wearing them.

Better military training at the cost of wearing a "dress" ......



This i would agree with, but you have to keep in mind, the Legions tactics involve striking hard and fast. Limit the weight and allow more fast movements.
