Do you think that Skyrim is easy?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:33 am

So after i tell to a guy that i killed a Giant at Level 5 with a Bound sword, i telled that Skyrim is just to easy. He didn't belived me, then said that i was playing on easy. Just wrong. Yes, Skyrim is easy if you play on adept for a while. Even on harder dificults a Thief can easily kill an Ancient Dragons using the right items and strategie. So i tell, yes Skyrim is an easy game to me. But it's normal in dificult terms as any other. And i ask to you. Do you think that Skyrim is easy? Do you think it's hard like Dark Souls? Or have the basic difficult of any game?

Hard at low levels, very easy endgame if you picked a somewhat decent build (and you have to be mentally defect to succeed in creating a bad build in Skyrim)

It's nothing like dark souls, but it's not like it tries to be a difficult game. Difficulty just isn't what this game is all about. Depending on how you level your character it will get easier or more difficult, but if you find it too hard you can just turn down the difficulty, try to enjoy the game itself instead of comparing it with other games.

If you want it to be easy, it is. If you want it to be difficult, it is.

Once you get into the 50's you should be the most powerful guy running around. Hell your the dragonborn sent to kill dragons. That being said dragons should instil fear into your character the entire time. They are just too easy.. You should be forced to run and hide from them for the first half of the game. At least if your not with 7-8 other people like the first dragon at whiterun.

Depends. Difficulty is in different places for different builds. For example, as a mage, archers and traps are my kryptonite: they one hit kill me. So I have to be careful in dungeons, and use cover when fighting enemies with bows, because if not, it's a guaranteed last save reload. Every other kind of enemy is a cake walk because I can usually kill them before they can even touch me. A warrior or a rogue character would probably approach these situations differently.

I actually thought that Oblivion and Morrowind were easier. Maybe that's just cause I'm not great with combat technique, you know, I just run in there with a sword in one hand and a flame spell on the other :D

Challenge is a key factor to games. How fun would chess be if all of your pieces were Queens and you could move 5 times before your opponent moved 1? How fun would Solitaire be if you could shuffle through cards and just find the cards you need and put them in order? There is a distinct reason why traditional games like these have and will always be so popular. "Balance" and "Challenge" are not just meant for MMORPGs and "certain games."

The game can be difficult or easy. It is all in how you make your character.

And, a Giant at Level 5 is doable with decent tactics and gear.

The game provides a good challenge until you get to higher levels. Than nothing Can stop you, let alone threaten you. I hope In the DLC's they introduce some bigger and badder creatures. Like they did in Fallout NV, with The Legendary boatfly and Rawr. We need enemies who are better equiped, and epic boss fights. More numerious enemies would help too.

Well, my three year old son managed to kill pretty much everyone in Solitude on my x-box version of the game. It was pretty hilarious. But then he was playing my high leveled character.

The game can be pretty challenging at lower levels, but difficulty tapers off greatly later on.
Added some difficulty mods; game can still become easy once high enough level, but there's some interesting fights here and there.

Exactly. Perfect example is how and when you do the Azura's Star quest. It can either be one of the easiest or one of the hardest depending on what you are going in with, standing stones etc etc.

Yes I think It is to easy, mods are fixing that fast though. I also think 90% of all video games are to easy. It is just how the games are made today. Skyrim is still a absolutely amazing game though.

Il tell you if it's easy, when I beat alduin with an Iron Dagger in my pants on master (it will be done - by someone i'm sure)

until then, it is hard at first and then easy later.

At low levels it can be really hard. I remember getting ambushed by two sabre toothed cats on the road to Winterhold at low level and had to reload from a save game more than a dozen times because I kept getting wasted.

But the game does get pretty easy at high levels when you are beefed up with uber armor and weapons. Although you are completely dependent on them. Just try ditching your gear at level 50 for some more basic stuff and see how well you do. Your character is not really as tough as you think, its mostly the high-grade armor and weapons talking.

Assuming you play intelligently, Skyrim is easy if you primarily level combat skills and have a follower, even on Master. However, it's mostly a good thing because it means I'm not forced into a certain playstyle.

I haven't run into the "to easy" yet, I may, but I am also playing on adept. When I don't feel that challenge anymore I will bump up one lvl of difficulty. And then again once that doesn't feel as challengeing.
