Wild Wasteland does actually have some advantages aside from the occasional raunchy dialogue that I enjoy oh so much. Various easter eggs become available when using this as well as a few other things which I will mention including a weapon that certainly packs a punch which you can have in your inventory. ***SPOILER BELOW***
***SPOILER ALERT***
With Wild Wasteland active you can:
Find a group of aliens (and space ship above the mountains behind although you cant travel to it), the captain of which is carrying an alien blaster. I do not know if there is another way to get this weapon but it sure is fun this way! and it comes with a pretty decent amount of ammo as well.
You can gain an option to talk to rex (follower) and get a location added on your pip boy (I havent travelled there yet so I dont know what is there).
You can find rats one and a half to two times the size of other rats you may encounter in the game in certain underground areas. Yay!!
Mr. New Vegas will begin music with some interesting and dialogue about himself and the mojave as well.
"Somewhere in a place where two spires once shot forth skyward, is a basemant with a box of holy hand grenades to utilize. There is a sign on the ox that reads 'Holy Hand Grenades. Pull pin, count to five (scratched out)...3, and throw."
***Even Further Spoiler***
"If you're listening to the NCR Emergency Radio during the final battle for Hoover Dam, among the pvssyr about positioning snipers and reinforcing positions, you swore you heard some Troopers getting attacked by enemies coming out of the dam walls..."
there are a few I forgot to mention and cant remember but all in all I wouldn't say its a complete waste to use Wild Wasteland, I find it to be quite enjoyable. I guess I'm more of the nature of the developers who wanted to add a bit of goofy and randomness to the fun filled wasteland.
