Do you want kids?

Post » Mon Sep 12, 2011 2:00 am

I want kids, eventually. One, maybe two. With that, I don't want to even think about kids until I hit my thirties. My ideal age would be about thirty-five. Whether or not I hit that goal remain to be seen.

I'm going to have 20, and live out the rest of my years sitting on a chair of gold.

Actually...and this is from experience...you want to skip from 2 to 4 years, then skip from 12 to 18 or 20. You do not want a 2 or 15 year old living in the same house as you. :P

The best thing is to just move out and give them the house. That's what they really want anyway.

Redundant question for me.

The big question I wanna know is whether anyone ever wants to rent on occasion, a reasonable priced, slightly used but still in very good condition,(*)

second hand child?

please?

(*)He's retained his cuteness quite well, and it should hold for at least another year

How can you, as a loving parent, possibly do something like this?!!?

and

Can anyone do it, would there be a special form I need to fill out?

If I had a lady to have them with, I was financially stable and I had my own place - probably. I've always planned on having two sprogs.

No. I am far too selfish to have some spoiled brat leeching off me for 18 years.

This.

Also I don't think the world needs more people.. especially people with my genes :hehe:

Oh, I wouldn't mind having kids, but I'm the old fashioned type and would rather have a wife or at least a serious girlfriend first.

However, since the likely-hood of me ever having a girlfriend to begin with is almost impossible, I guess that I won't be having kids.

Love your post - really made me laugh! :D

You should do what my folks did: when I turned 18, they threatened to charge me rent at one third of my income. I realised immediately that it would be much cheaper to leave home and rent elsewhere, and was gone within a matter of weeks.

Of course, for the first couple of years, I still showed up at holidays with a bag full of dirty laundry ...

:)

They have prepaid college/univeristy tutiton that also covers dormitory and cafeteria. WOOHOO! Daughter will be graduating high school and off to university/college in the summer of 2012. Son is slated for his grand exit in 2013. We expect them by on weekends to do their laundry, but it won't break our hearts.
Parents also charged me rent, even in high school.

Yes, someday. Two, one boy and one girl, at least 6 years apart.

At the moment, no. In the future? Maybe, but it depends upon where I am. If I'm basically pretty much the same in ten years, as now, then it wouldn't be responsible of me to have a child. I'm too self-centered.

Never, under any circumstances, would I ever consider having a child.

Not only would I have extreme difficulty tolerating the first 10 years of its life, when it's the most immature, but I would also be a father that pushes his kid to be the star athlete in every sport, have straight A's, etc. etc.

My girlfriend asked me what kind of father I would be if I had a son, and I told her that I would be disappointed if he couldn't meet these standards:

Run a mile in 5 minutes or less
Run a 5k in under 19 minutes
Bench 160 lbs
Squat 320 lbs
Hang Clean 200 lbs
Complete a wrestling season with 5 or less losses
Have at least a 3.6 GPA
Score a 27 on the ACT

I am well aware that I am a terrible person.

...Dad? Is that you? :cold:

As for the question at hand, its a Yes. I've always had this mindset that after I'm done with the "screwing" around part of my life, I'll meet a nice dame, and end up having five or more kids.

I've always been a family man. Both of my parents had over seven or so brothers and sisters, and I'd like to have a big generation.

Then again, I won't even consider one until I know I'm financially ready for them. Which will most likely be never. I can't believe how screwed my parents were after they had me.

Absolutely. I want a daughter, she WILL be called Holly, and a son, who's name I haven't yet decided. My future husband can name him.

5k in 19 minutes would probably be a world record. The fastest mile ran, I believe, is a little under 4 minutes. 5k in 19 minutes would be about that pace for 19 minutes.

Nope.

Two are enough, we can still play man on man. One more and we'd start playing a zone defense, which lets too many things through!

Yes i want kids, i want at least 4 at most 10.

My husband also wanted a large family, I gave him a daughter and a son.
Told him to have the rest himself, or find someone else to do it for him, I was DONE.
For years he's gone on about it, but these last couple of months, he's stopped agitating me.
He's now looking at boats.

Son runs cross country, 19 minutes is considered a standard time, 5k's are often won in 15-16 minutes, high school.

It's not a nagging thought, but I would like to throw my hat into the gene pool, sooner or later, for better or worse.
