No. Not unless it ended up getting a 8-9 from IGN and a 4-5 from G4. I don't usually listen exclusively to reviewers, but this time they were right and I was wrong and my wallet is hurt because of it.

I don't see why anyone would flame, and to be honest I'm not disappointed with the game. IF I was, I would definitely buy Brink 2 because there is always room for improvement. This game has such an amazing concept it just needs to be implemented better

Exactly, all the honest game reveiwers who were objective in their review conceded that Brink had amazing potential and concept even if it was unfinished in their eyes.

I don't know.... If they start patching some stuff and tweaking the AI of first Brink, then maybe I would consider Brink 2.

Right now, I'm just waiting for the patches and the tweaking of the AI (this one especially).

If they tweaked the AI and add DLC's for the first one, then I would buy the second one. If not.......well, no Brink 2 for me.

I love the potential and concept of this game. IF they really improved it (and regular people playing the games see the improvements, not just PR saying there are improvements),
then, yes, Brink 2 would be on my buying list. ^_^

I need to see some concrete action first (patching/tweaking) before I consider buying Brink 2, in summary.

Listening to reviewers is like making someone else chose which games to play, what was YOUR reason for not liking it? Not theirs.

What is disappointing about the game? Nothing. So the AI are a bit stupid. No game killer. Play with friends. I was extremely satisfied with this game. Yes I would buy the second one.

And why in the world would you listen to IGN? They take bribes to rate games. CoD is one of those games they take bribes for.

It was my first time actually wanting a game that got rated less than an 8 on average, and I regretted it. Needless to say, I won't make that mistake again. Bad games are generally just bad. Last time I make a mistake and pre-order a new IP.

But, what if we don't want to play online or if the PSN is down? Some of us want to play single-player (I've always played Campaign of various FPS'se and I enjoyed those) and some of us have to play single-player due to PSN being down.

So telling us to not complain about or just ignore the somewhat horrible AI because we should ignore one part of the game-package (that SD advertised as being a viable option of the experience) will not solve the AI problem or our dissatisfaction on that part.

I'm kind of glad some of the reviewers see that AI is still important, no matter what kind of game it is, and thus rate Brink accordingly on that aspect.

SD has to fix some things so this game can reach its full potential and retain its audience or attract new audiences, etc.

Drop Dead's Brink 2 Wish list:

  • An actual Single player campaign

  • Fix the terrible, terrible, terrible A.I.

  • Improve the Graphics

  • Tell the "Commander" to stop screaming in my ear every five seconds

  • Fix the sound system

  • Make Body types permanent

  • Improve S.M.A.R.T. so that we actually feel like hardcoe free running badasses

  • Add much more customization

  • Add an ability for Third Person mode

  • Add much more weapons with a lot more variation

  • Fix the hip-firing

  • Make each class, bodytype, and ability feel unique.

  • And Female Characters for Bunny :bunny:

Those would need to be accomplished for me to even consider purchasing Brink 2. :spotted owl:

OMG, that's like, the ultimate dream game! (I would also add female characters there, too. ;) )

I feel like third person all the time would be imbalancing. Everybody would have to get it, otherwise everybody else would have much better peripheral vision and would probably be able to rotate the camera to see behind them like with Sense of Perspective...only all the time.

  • Tell the "Commander" to stop screaming in my ear every five seconds - Doesn't do this for me.

  • Fix the sound system - For me the sound system works fine.

  • Make Body types permanent - No Thanks I like being able to switch.

  • Improve S.M.A.R.T. so that we actually feel like hardcoe free running badasses

  • Add much more customization

  • Add an ability for Third Person mode - Eh.

  • Add much more weapons with a lot more variation

  • Fix the hip-firing

  • Make each class, bodytype, and ability feel unique.

  • And Female Characters for Bunny :bunny:

An ability, not always Third Person. Just switch everyone once in a while to move around, maybe do some hip firing.

@Suicide

1. Does for me. Hes always yelling about some sort of objective being taken.. When I really, really don't give a shi*.

2. Guns sound horrible. Characters have forced, annoying accents. Etc.

3. I perfer commiting to my character. Doesn't make much sense to be able to change body type on the fly..

4. Your opinion. Don't take the ability if you don't want it. ;)

NO. Because we would need proof that it's actually a working game. Splash Damage lost all credibility, they'd need to appease peoples skepticism and gain trust back. People basically got duped into buying an awesome Xbox Live Arcade game w/ deplorable netcode.
