Your favorite "build" or playstyle....so far

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 5:27 pm

I've probably enjoyed aspects of all the classic three (warrior, thief, mage) but I think my favorite so far was a hybrid mage/assassin that requires a little planning to work properly. He only has 100 hit points and wears cloth with no magic armor; so if he gets seen he is pretty much dead. However as long as I plan accordingly he has no problems handling everything that has been thrown at him so far. It never gets old watching a room full of people beat up on each other and then casting a summon in the middle of it all to mix things up followed by a well placed rune and some dual casted destruction spells to finish off whoever emerges from the original scrum.

So what is your favorite so far and why?

Without question, the most fun character build yet.

my fave is the Witchhunter. Archery, stealth, Conjuration, Alchemy, enchanting, light armor and one handed. I really like being able to fight and cast spells and sneak around too, a really fun jack of all trades character and easily my best character.

Why are you having so much fun with it?

Why do you call it the "Witchhunter"? Also do you really use Alchemy all that often?

I like playing as a Necromancer. Conjuration, Destruction, Alteration, Restoration, and a little alchemy and enchanting. For destruction i primarily use Frost spells.... No daedra, only zombies. Male breton

2 handed tank. Just kicks in the door and kicks ass. Second is a dual wielding nightblade.

My Conjurer is really fun. Main Skills are Conjuration, One Handed, Archery, Light Armor, Enchanting, and Alchemy. I basically summon an Atronach and a bound bow or sword and fight alongside him. Light armor for manuevarable defense, Enchanting to allow yourself to have more magicka/stamina/health, and Alchemy for potions.

My current character. Pure mage, robes only (Arch-Mage robes though), unarmored boots and gloves (both enchanted). He doesn't carry a melee weapon but does carry two staffs (lightning and fireball) for backup when the magica runs dry.

What's cool is that his one handed, two handed, armor, and pickpocketing skills are exactly the same as when the game started. His stamina is also the same as it was when the game first began. So when I'm maxed out on the magic stuff, he'll then start training as a thief/assassin. Of course his health and magica will be high so the threat of death won't be very likely; but I also won't have to start over with a completely new character.

Well I use the term since the build is really close to the witchhunter class from Morrowind and Oblivion. I use Alchemy a bit, I make a lot of healing potions and really like to make invisibility potions. I just like having a ton of potions.

Pure mage with no armor on expert and improved destruction mod. Magic is just epic in this game.

My first build is a Jack of all trades imperial. I am still going on with it and am at mid game with 130 hours in. I do Conjuration, Two and One Handed, Sneaking, Archery, Light Armor, Smiting, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Restoration for the most part. I like having tools to handle any situation.

Crusader. This playstyle is basicly a template for a heavily armored melee combatant who uses spells to augment its abilities. You could call it a combat focused battlemage.

Vallen from Valenwood (pretending that is not his real name, just that at the beginning of the game, when the people wanting to execute him ask what his name so that they can find it off of a list, he's gunna lie about who he is) is a mage/archer vampire. At now around level 76 he still rolls with an Old Wooden Bow and Dull Blade, running around in Worn Leather Armor by day. Sees himself as a good guy despite the blood drinking thing and ritual eating of enemies Bosmer style.

By night he is the Nightingale that can and will steal everything that is even vaguely unique. In battle he'll summon a Storm Thrall on the rare occassions he needs backup, or put away the bow and dual cast Destruction spells against dragons. And lol in dragon's faces as their breath attacks do nothing. And then run away as said dragons try to sit on him for an instant KO.

Favorite character yet. Can't stop playing this build to try other combos despite wanting to eventually create an evil character that doesn't intentionally fail nearly all the daedric quests and can join the Dark Brotherhood. As well as backstab and poison things. Being able to use any of the necromancer spells would be nice as well.

Guy in my sig. I don't take the Ranger perk. Tons of sprint kiting fun and lots and lots of slow poisons. I use a long bow for RP reasons and to keep the game from becoming too easy (I upgrade it via smithing but as long bows are considered iron weapons I can't upgrade it to legendary). It's the perfect char for me.

I think I'm having the most fun with my destruction-alteration mage. I started using alteration defensively and now its my favorite skill set for CC, defense and utility.

Orc specialising in two-handed, illusion, heavy armor and block with some sneaking and smithing, nothing more fun than making enemies kill each other and then beheding the rest.

I started off as a regular warrior archetype, using 2 handed Daedric Sword improved to legendary stats (100) and blacksmith (100) myself a set of daedric heavy armor (70). The gameplay got old real fast as I just pretty much sprint and power attack everything... Usually takes no more than 2 hits to kill something on normal difficulty, except elder dragon which would take about 5 hits with Lv3 Mark of Death.

Right after I started the thieves guild quest, I wanted to be more immersive so I banked my gears and picked up a bow & arrow (55), then trained my stealth with the grey beards to (100).

That lasted for awhile until I picked up the Dark Brotherhood quest, I went back to my trusty 2 Hander plus a mix of stealth attack... Now I am literally killing everything with 1 stealth hit... Except Alduin which still took 3 hits.

I've spent 175 hours on a half-dozen characters and I always end up returning to a pure mage build (Destruction and Conjuration augmented by Alteration and Restoration).

So far my favorite style is a pure 2-Hand, Light Armor, melee Warrior. The 2-Hand sword finishing animations are just too badass. I never tire of watching them.

Well... absolutely LOVING the Thief/Assassin build I play... guess someone referred to it as Witchhunter from previous titles. Light Armor (swap/combine Nightengale and Dark Brotherhood items), Archery, dual wield one hand weapons- mainly daggers but swords if needed, bits of magic used- (Conjuration, Illusion, Alteration mainly with some Restoration if needed... oh and use of Shouts and Powers like Conjure Assassin to assist), and Alchemy- to make Poisons and Heals etc. Just soooo much much fun...sneaking...pickpocketing...stealing... assassinating.... just a blast. Devoted most points in the green Thief area skills, a couple in Light Armor or One Handed.

Will most likely make a full Mage next character. Had started with one at first, but had a system crash (non game related) and lost everything as i had to do a full Restore to system. Decided to make a Thief then... no regrets. But will make a Mage- true Mage, next character... as I did love the brief play I got when I went Mage before with my Spells being more powerful.

My signature shows off my favorite character so far-- a Cleric styled after Baldur's Gate (my favorite game of all time!). I'm playing with plenty of restrictions and it's amazingly fun!!!

I've always played stealth archers in Elder Scrolls games, and this new build is a really nice new twist! I'm loving sword and board combat.
