Your favorite Dragonborn

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 6:06 pm

So most people have made many characters by now of all different races and combat styles but which one is your favorite. What race are they? What factions are they in? Are they "good" or "evil", etc.

Honestly I consider my default to be just a Male Nord using light armor and sword/shield. Bashing is a whole lot of fun. This character just seems to fit Skyrim in every way. Course I made another character to join the DB and another to join the Mages and yet another to join the TG and more to try both sides of the civil war and another to join the Blades, etc.

An Argonian who was once a great bard, when he was accidentally knocked out by the empire and carted off to Helgen he lost his mind and memory, after seeing the Dragon attack he knows what he once was, a DRAGON! He wears nothing, uses only the wabbajack and dragon shouts. He also is namiras champion so he eats people after they are dead. He also uses a knife and fork. I heard this build mentioned before so I gave it a try.

I have just started a male Dragonborn (Imperial, mage), but I prefer the Dragonborn to be a woman ;) (The only one who has finished the MQ so far was Breton, currently her Nord sister is working her way through it, and they will be accompanied by a Dunmer once I feel I have the time).

After all, in my tamrielic history, the Nerevarine was a female Bosmer ;)

Name: Cesaret Stormblade.
Race: Argonian
Member of all factions: Later in his eternal life he is trying to set his life right. He has found a new leader for the Dark Brotherhood. And every other guild. He mostly spends time with his family now. He does still go out adventuring.
Alignment: Good
Achievements: Arena Champion, And leader of every other guild, Cyrodiil/Skyrim, Hero Of Kvatch, Champion of Cyrodiil, Dragonborn.

Backstory: Cesaret awoke one night in a jail cell in with a bad hangover. He moved towards the cell door to be mocked by the racist trash in the cell across from him. A man entered his cell claiming he'd seen Cesaret in his dreams. Cesaret listened and followed the group of Blades out of his cell. He uncovered a conspiracy and witnessed the death of an Emperor. He set out on his quest to close the gates of Oblivion and stop Mehrunes Dagon. He succeeded. As a reward for saving Nirn, the Divines gave him one wish. He choose to have eternal life. He later fought in the Great war under the Empires flag. After the White Gold Concordant was signed. He joined up with the Rebel Stormcloaks. Cesaret was a part of many raids in the Capital of the Imperial City killing any who threw their hats in with the Empire. And Thalmor. On the way back to Windhelm in Skyrim they were attacked with arrows laced with Languorwine, a poison designed to give the appearance of death. They were given the antidote on a cart headed to Helgen. Cesaret was about to have his head chopped off. Then Alduin attacked. Cesaret escaped with Ralof into Riverwood. He set out doing quests. The Jarl of Whiterun sent him to the Western watchtower to slay a dragon, only to find out he may be something called Dragonborn. He continued doing quests until the time came to slay Alduin. He drew his blade. Skyfire, to slay him. He fought in Sovngarde with the warriors who fought Alduin before. The World Eater was slain.

It's like picking a favourite child...

Rahne, my Forsworn conjurer. She's a Breton, but I used Live Another Life mod to start out as a Forsworn. She wears light armor and fights with a bound sword - conjuration and restoration are the only magic schools she uses. She has a personal vendetta against Ulfric Stormcloak, that's why she joined the Imperial Legion; of course she doesn't want the Reach to fall into Emperor's hands, but she sees this as the only way to get rid of the man she hates.
On her journey she stumbled across a group of people who she learned to trust. They gave her something she considers a gift - an opportunity to express her hidden nature, to run wild and free as a wolf. It was a great relief for her to hear that a woman she fell in love with feels the same way about being a werewolf and doesn't want to be "cured".
Being a Dragonborn is what she never wanted and never really accepted. She's only now learning what it means for her and for the rest of the world. I can't say if she'll see it as a curse or as a gift in the end - her story is not yet complete, she has much to do and much to learn.

I'm currently playing a Bosmer thief/assassin/archer type, and so far it's been my favorite. She hasn't done much of the main quest though, so at level 26 there isn't any dragons flying around yet or shouts to be used. In due time, in due time...

Honestly, none of mine yet. I don't know...I played first with an Altmer mage/assassin, then a Nord Warrior/Theif, then started and Orc warrior, but quit and now a pure mage. I can't seem to really feel like any of them are my "true" Dragonborn. Maybe one day....

I always go with male and default race (male nord in this case) I tend to choose more warrior side talents, but not necassarily limit myself to not using magic or stealth if I feel like it.

My favorite Dragonborn was one of the first characters I made; a Nord Male.

It just felt like he belonged there, more so than my Altmer Dragonborn; at the end he just felt so out of place.

My original character from back when I first started playing on PS3 is still my favorite.
Hjalti Stormhawk, male Nord, heavy armour sword+board with 100 smithing. Banded iron armour, Ancient Nord gauntlets, boots and helm, with a Nord Hero war axe and banded iron shield, all fully upgraded. No enchantments, he was pure warrior Nord to the core. He just seemed so right, lol

My current DiD character runs a close second, although she isn't the Dragonborn. I played the MQ up until Farengar tells you to head over to a certain barrow, then just went elsewhere.
Mhairi, female Breton, heavy armour combat archer/sword+board. Banded iron armour, steel cuffed boots, nordic steel gauntlets, plain steel helm, with a basket hilt sword (Jaysus swords mod) and banded iron shield for melee, and an Imperial Bow of Arcing and steel arrows for ranged combat.

That's a really difficult question! I like all my characters because I make them all as different from each other as possible. I create a different character for everything; one for the main quest, one for each faction, etc.

I guess I'd have to say overall my favourite is my main quest character, Sporreen the khajiit, purely because he was my first character on the game and so many funny things have happened to me while playing as him. Also, I have to take into account the dynamic duo that is Sporreen and Lydia! (Which usually consists of Sporreen running away while Lydia fights off everything, as well as her constantly following Sporreen over waterfalls, which often ends badly...).

I have two other characters who would be close seconds to Sporreen though. One is a member of the Dark Brotherhood, an imperial called Judas. The other is in the Thieves Guild, and is a High Elf called Alburn. I mainly like them because I love playing stealth-based characters, but I've also found I've grown really attached to the personalities I gave them. I've also had loads of funny moments with these two characters as well (usually involving quests gone wrong, or escape plans not going quite as they were meant to...)

Basically, my favourite characters will always be the ones who grow a personality, and the ones who I have the funniest moments with :)

Probably Vauldr Black-Hull, my Nord (ex)pirate character whose a seedy, ruthless and calculating scumbag. Partially based of Euron Greyjoy from ASOIAF, if you're wondering,

i loved my sadly oversaved argonian warrior.... i mean it doesn't fit the story, but.... who the hell looks more dragonborn, than an argonian? was great to run around in heavy armor having only the tail sticking out. so people always go like: "look at the tail of this warrior, it's the dragonborn!"

My favorite would be Avaril Ulvena, a Dark Elf Assassin and Pseudo-Warrior. Playing that type of Assassin's Creed style assassin rather than traditional, sneak in the darkness assassin is incredibly fun. It's balanced way more than traditionally since I stay hidden until I make a kill. The kills are always high profile for me so I save killing people until I get to the strongest enemy, usually a bandit chief or Forsworn Briar-Heart. Then everyone else is cannon fodder for me.

He's also an alchemist and that's what drives Avaril's quest across Skyrim. His alchemy focuses on healing potions, so basically herbal medicine. Avaril makes those potions from ingredients he collects from either other alchemists or areas between towns and either sells them to shops or leaves them in chapels for free.

Neutral Good though. Avaril has no respect for authority beyond his semi-patriotic view of Morrowind and the Empire. Avaril's main goal in Skyrim, and his reason for coming to Skyrim, is that he wants to find his brothers and sisters, who were separated from him during the Great War. Desperate, he takes some random lead from a barkeep in Cyrodiil.

As his journey progresses, Avaril gets more and more into the darker arts such as taking an interest in vampirism, even if he isn't a Vampire yet. He also found the Black Tower, something his Dark Elf friend left for him in Skyrim before his death during the Thalmor purges (mod, look it up in Skyrimnexus) and uses the Black Sacrament Armor, an armor that was designed for someone opposite of his profession.
