Your Favorite Music

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 7:40 am

I saw something like this on The LOTR; War in the North forums and thought it was pretty cool. So go ahead and link your favorite vids from YouTube and add an explination (artist name first, song name second) if you want. I'll start us off I guess.

Cry of the Celts; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlHmGy4Aq_g (skip to about halfway along)
Ensiferum, twilight tavern; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaqqsTVuCnI
Amon Amarth, the pursuit of vikings; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPRt6Tt6RyM
Blood tsunami, let blood rain; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYH_siyG7bQ

Enjoy the thread!

Hmm. Seems like this belongs in the community section. Has nothing to do with Skyrim whatsoever.

you could just change the original post to say "what is your fav msuic while playing skyrim" instead of just fav music in general, all fixed

anyway i think some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqIpId5T3q0&feature=related is great for skyrim and anything by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DJl7VcoPpY or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKltawQoeVc&feature=related

Agreed! Although I find Blind Guardian more suitable for a LOTR game.

The OST for Myst III is beautiful. It was composed by Jack Wall (now of Mass Effect fame) and received many awards.

The track for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKBuOusKfbY is my favorite, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYkXrPzr814 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZggieOGsgo are great too.

I listened to this stuff when I read the Elder Scrolls novels. Fit the mood perfectly IMO.

yea blind guardian's songs are based off lotr and sacred (at least, one song is base off of sacred and made for the game)

only a mod can, but, the title gets the point across nicely and there is no real need to change it imo

Haha yeah sometimes. Tons of music; the beatles, slayer, judas priest, BLS, Dio, The Doors, and occasionally Dying Fetus while I play

Are we talking about when we play? Because I normally listen to podcasts while I play, or whatever album I recently purchased. I find that playing a game while listening to music allows me to hear the music with an open mind because I'm not focusing on it and thus I rarely introduce bias based upon artist, genre, or popular opinion.

I find the Skyrim score excellent myself. I hope it wins a lot of awards.

I don't play with anything else on. And in addition to the quality of the score, I like how it kicks in sometimes. It's random what the song will be, but sometimes it's very suitable to the scenery.

Malukah Fenix's version of The Dragonborn Comes.

However, if I feel like a bit of battle music in those draugr pits, Deadman Walking - Bloodpimp.

This is amazing. :woot:

And on the topic, I usually listen to whatever is on my playlist while playing (usually symphonic metal and such things). I never listen to anything while in dungeons and ruins though. I can't concentrate, and there is a higher chance a Skeever will creep up and scare the (censored) out of me.

While some traditional "HARD GUITAR KICKASS" is still a pretty viable option, I recently found some new songs on Youtube that go by the name of "Greatest Battle Music Of All TIme". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XstrpkqT6dw&feature=related

Glad you liked them. When in dungeons (barrows mostly) I wait for a major confrontation like a deathlord and some servants or something and pop in the viking metal!

I like some of the old 60's war protest songs. Songs like

"Eve of Destruction,
A Change is Gonna Come,
The Times They Are A-Changin, and
Run Through The Jungle,"

to name a few.

I love the Skyrim soundtrack and the thought of adding other music is too horrifying to even contemplate. First Elderscrolls rpg since TES 2 Daggerfall that am completely happy and satisfied with the ingame music with a audio quality that is like magic to the imagination.

If i were to listen to some music it would probably be some Toho Godzilla music and instrumental Brian Eno pieces.

Heh. It seems there has been a little mix up. I meant what your favorite music is in general. But since now it seems that people are putting their favorite game music, I figure it's better anyway. So HERE is what I like to listen to while gaming in general;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XiYUYcpsT4&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUsv4Lb7EQs&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfNK4kIL_w4&feature=related

You may think it's strange but I find it's very relaxing and helps me concentrate. The down side is that there is no such thing as a scary dungeon while listening to this.
