Your Favorite type of Armor?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 6:35 pm

Hey all. So, what's your favorite kind of armor in the game?

Myself, I'm partial to the Lightweight Metal Armor that comes with the Mercenary pack. It's as good as Metal Armor, only it's lighter and it looks better. And it can be repaired with normal metal armor.

I've been looking for some new armor, though, since this one is cool and all but I've had it for forever. So I ask you guys: which is your favorite type of armor, and why?

Not a huge fan of armor, but the Chinese Stealth Suit with a re-breather and a reinforced combat helmet looks pretty unique and bad ass.

Remnants power armour. Why? Because I look like the jugernaut with my .50 cal sniper. Also it doesn't give any -AGI points. :D

I don't like to use any kind of armor that impacts my movement speed, personally. I did on my energy weapons guy so I could look like a Fallout 2 baller, but otherwise I stick to anything classified as "Light".

As far as looks, I really like reinforced leather. My overall favorite outfit (maybe spoilers):

Spoiler
Police Hat, Authority Glasses, Vault 34 Security Armor, Riot Shotgun

I like the Combat Armor, Reinforced Mk II or T-45 Power Armor.

I also keep the Wasteland Doctor fatigue, Ranger Grey hat, and Authority glasses for style and to move around easier until i get into a fight. Then my heavy armor gets equipped.

It's like being a super hero. I'm a mild mannered (rockstar lookin)wasteland wanderer. But if anyone messes with me, POWER ARMOR ACTIVATED!!!

No just go to hoover dam at anytime and go into the irradiated room, its in a box in the back. There's two of them and they can be repaired with the recon armor as long as you have jury rigging.

I tried that combo with many hats
I liked it but I've got a real mania for the Merc adventurer outfit, matched with Boones beret, and the rebreather or shades depending on which I have atm.
It's to do with the new anims, I think of all the outfits it shows the movements best imo, especially on the midriff exposed female mesh.

Oh man that phrase made me titter, I love it.

I did not mean to say I disliked your pick, I do like it very much so no offense meant.
It's just personally after using the css quite a bit in FO3 I loved the more waste lander merc / western marksman vibe style of outfit.

I like the reinforced leather too, with the recon beret and authority glasses (respect my authority!) but while I'm running around the strip I'm in my naughty nightwear :hubbahubba:

My favorite type of armor is the different versions of the Great Khans armor. Those look awesome on a female character. :celebration:

Yeah they do!

I sometimes find myself loitering around the Great Kahn camp so i can check out the hottie biker lookin chicks. Hmm..... I probably should be a little embarrassed about that.

If I'm in the mood for clothing, I go with Viva La Vegas (worn by The King) or Ambassador Crocker's Suit, they both look pretty good. For armor, the NCR Ranger Combat Armor is pretty good.

I love the look of leather armor with the old cowboy hat. Been using it just about the whole game, (currently at level 22). I "try-out" every new piece of outer wear I find, but always go back to leather Baby!

I do switch off to the sheriff's duster on occasion, but always keep the old cowboy hat.

you're my man :D
there are so many items like chems, the dt implant, nuka quartz, whiskey(if you're with cass) to boost your armor class into the walking tank area when necessary, that i've never asked for more.
the reinforced leather armor is the best looking armor for me, it is classified as light, is pretty light, and very easy and cheap to maintain.
what's not to love about it?

Don't forget Travel Light. 1 hour of time saved by running faster per every 10 hours of FNV. I typically have 2x Toughness and the implant so with Reinforced Leather my DT is around 20 for the most part. It's more than I typically need unless I go unarmed/melee. In case it gets problematic I have something heavier hotkey-ed (lately I got even lazier and have a companion carry it for me going for a quick trade when Deathclaws are charging us).

Typically I'm a svcker for everything Brotherhood so I'd wear Recon and BoS PA if I could with bonuses to movement from former and no hostility caused by the latter.

Travel armor, I'm a fan of Sheriffs Duster, Formal Wear, King's outfit.

For combat, Remnant Armor all the way baby. It's the boring, obvious choice, but hey, when it's both the most effective and the best looking, I can't say no.

yeah stumbled over travel light pretty late in the game, when i basically already had all perks i considered necessary.
on my next run from scratch, i'll have it in my perk slot for lvl 8, though :D
i don't take the dt perks, as i'm more the sniper type of player, and leave the style- and honorless clubbing and bashing to others :D
as mentioned, i'm not reluctant to pump myself full of med-x, slasher, nuka quartz and whiskey. so i can spruce myself up to 22DT/50% DR anytime i want.
being a day tripper and chemist makes that also pretty comfortable, as even the short lasting stuff you can make at a campfire has a reasonable duration then.

I tend to go for medium armor.. mostly reinforced combat armor mk 2

Steal and reinforced steel armor svck realy.. steel armor is weak and doesnt protect and its refiforced variant is well outperformed by many light and medium armors.

after getting a couple ranks of Toughness + Sub Dermal implant + Stonewall, I found that even after my recon armor became too damaged to wear, I still have enough DT to get by using just naughty nightwear
