Your first ever initial reaction to "arrow to the knee&#

Post » Tue Jul 10, 2012 5:11 am

Presuming you heard it from the game, what was your first encounter with the "I used to be an adventurer like you, but then i took an arrow to the knee." , and what was your reaction?

For me, i heard it from a guard in whiterun, and my reaction was along the lines of " okay...that's a funny place to get shot in...i don't see any, uh, scar there though."

Didn't pay it any mind, though notably quite a few people overreacted with more hostility than ever necessary to people making the jokes(and the jokes burned themselves out anyways).

I was like "damn, an arrow in the knee?! that must've svcked, why are you still walking?" but if you think about it, an arrow to the knee would be a gruesome sight.

I thought the guard was a lamer. My character had taken arrows to the head, knees, feet, chest and just about everywhere else by then.

Whiterun. Shocking I know. I seem to recall going into a Freemans style rant about health care for guards in Skyrim and how an arrow in the knee can debilitate someone to the point of being reduced to town guard, as opposed to anywhere else on the body. Then again, that guy was probably lying and wanted to make himself sound cool. Like old football injuries that keep your uncle Jerry from doing anything helpful at family gatherings other than opening a beer and discussing football.

I got Skyrim as a Christmas gift, so I had heard it over 9000 times on the internet before I even had the game, so when a guard said that I wanted to decapitate him.

Well I first played the game on christmas so I was well aware of the quote, I honestly dont hear it that much though and dont see why it got so popular - I still laughed the first time though.

There's perks to getting it day one, I see. You are there to see the meme's father. I actually became more disturbed by the guards when they all seemed to have secret alliance with Sithis. I was a bit terrified.

My reaction to it is similar to my reaction to threads still popping up about it.

I felt bad for him, so I brewed him an ale to warm his spirits.
